Thinking about it, even though I doubt a network TV channel will pick this up, I could see Netflix picking this up after things have cooled down.

I am also waiting for the "But (EDITED FOR YOUR PROTECTION) comedians make fun of (EDITED...) people all the time, and you never hear about it!" arguments. Or "I bet this was an excuse cause she supports (EDITED...) and what about the shows that are clearly against (EDITED...) like SNL and late night?" I do seriously wonder about that, though...what's the difference? On the first one, the big difference is being able to talk about one's perspectives and beliefs without being a whackaloon bigoted conspiracy theorist. A comedian can even make fun of a certain group(s) without being bigoted about it in the process. On the second one, nah, the networks don't really care whom somebody supports politically so long as the talent can still make them money. ABC is probably furious over this because they had a big hit on their hands, likely coming with plenty of advertising dollars, but now it's back to the drawing board.

What is worse: Roseanne's racist comments or Roseanne's infamous national anthem performance in 1990 before an Padres game?

What a f***ing idiotic way to screw people out of work. I doubt much of the cast will be affected as they're already getting pretty good work elsewhere (and many of them already resigned before the cancellation), but the production crew is getting screwed. Maybe not feel the desire to say overtly racist shit while falling back on the "it's just jokes" excuse. Jokes at least try to be funny. That was just cruel and malicious.

Same way you un-Shirleyed Laverne and Shirley? Or took the half-man from Two and a Half Men? Valerie Harper had a series called "Valerie" that she left after the second season because of money. They wrote her out, changed the name to "Valerie's Family" (then to "The Hogan Family") and the series lasted for 4 more seasons. If the show sounds familiar, Jason Bateman was one of the sons... none of those were revivals of popular shows. And Laverne Where's Shirley bombed hard... so it's probably not a good idea to use that as an example

Depends on how deep Barr is tied into ownership of the property. Those other examples, they didn't have any say; at least with the original series, Barr was a producer and had control over the brand; not sure about now. ]What is worse: Roseanne's racist comments or Roseanne's infamous national anthem performance in 1990 before an Padres game? Mocking a song that most Americans don't even know all the lyrics of versus telling a person they're an ape and not human? You tell me.

Yeah, companies don't care who you support as long as it doesn't interfere with business. Thinking about it, even though I doubt a network TV channel will pick this up, I could see Netflix picking this up after things have cooled down. depends on what the contract with ABC is, they may own enough of the the rights to kibosh that. Also that would require Roseanne to not do something stupid... and she has a really bad track record with that.

And now I'm scrambling to change all the programs for the ads I have ordered to air.
Thanks Roseanne. I didn't want to leave work on time anyway.

The way she has been rambling on about her conspiracies, we all should have known this was going to happen.

I don't think that even Fox (who picked up Last Man Standing) would even go near the show.

The Roseanne cancelation means that ABC's Tuesday 8:00 PM et slot is vacant so what show is going to take the 8:00 PM Tuesday slot now?
My guess is one of the following: -Another show that ABC (or another network) canceled - a half hour dancing With The Stars results show (and during the final month or so of college football season, the College Football Playoff ranking reveal show) - Speechless
