Josh Dickey, A reporter that was leaving the entertainment industry wnet into "DGAF" mode and said something along the lines of yeah he was flat out fired because multiple people saw his work cut and called it literally unwatchable. Combined with how much Salt Snyder's been throwing at Whedon kinda make it 100% look like this happened. (2 that come to mind are) Liking a tweet that said Whedon left Batgirl. Making a tweet pretty clearly directed at Whedon and Superman's cg mouth in JL. If Whedon replaced him as willingly as it was stated to be there is no reason to openly take shots at him. Not to mention one of Snyder's biggest supporters was ousted from WB a few months earlier. All stacks up. The SnyderCutters do have some evidence that Snyder is low-key behind them, screencaps of him liking IG posts supporting their "movement." Safe to say that if he is that far on the outs with WB and is willing to snipe Whedon like that, there's not a chance in hell WB are sinking a cent more into Justice League. If anything, it's likely the same situation as Disney have had with Solo - too much money invested to simply leave it in a vault, but not enough upside to back it 100%, so just patch it up as much as possible, try to make some money off it, and then forget about the whole damn mess. To this day, I don't understand why they didn't just delay the release date. I understand (almost) everything else leading up to the final cut, but what I don't understand is why they didn't give themselves a little more time to polish things. Hell, FOX moved The New Mutants well over a year down the line to fit in a few reshoots. I get they wanted to make their money back as soon as possible, but I figure they would've fared better had they not pushed a more or less unfinished film to theaters.

Really how hard is it to look at Wonder Woman's critical and financial success and go "Hey, go with more of that" with the things it did right? It was true to the character, struck a perfect balance in tone between action, drama, and some comic relief sprinkled in, was well-shot and acted, and was generally an all-around good movie. Unfortunately, and this is DC in a nutshell, the shadow of Batman looms over everything still. Here, I think what's happening is while it is true that WW was a success, they can't let go of The Dark Knight Mania from 10 years (!) ago. If I knew this would happen, I'd take a saga or so of more Schumacher films instead. I maintain that I'd rather have cheeseball Mr. Freeze making ice puns and the BatCard than this boring as shit grimdark Batman branding people. Like, I enjoyed Batman Begins and The Dark Knight as much as the next guy, but Batman doesn't have to be a joyless slog of a character all the damn time; there's other stuff you could do if you're talented. I mean, I know "if you're talented" is where the problem comes in with Snyder, but still.

I mean... who doesn't think that the Snydercut diehards are a minority? alos " If there was a full Whedon cut of the movie instead of the full Snyder cut, sure.” I agree with "Kevin" here. That last part of that is just a good rule of thumb in general.

It's Pretentious at times. A Batman who wants to give up and live a normal life? Really? TDKR not the best ending. And That Voice. As for which voice, Batman's or Bane's, I'll leave it up to you. Brave and the Bold proved people could still like a camp Batman. And B:TAS is still the absolute best of all worlds. Mind you it now feels like ages since I was begging a pre-insanity Bruce Timm to be the DCCU's savior. It makes me appreciate the Burton Batmen for what they were, when back in the day I was Team Nolan when there was a Nolan vs. Burton division. I even find the Schumachers' merits and they're enjoyable to riff and laugh at otherwise.

Man of Steel came out to mixed reviews, but they decided to stick with Snyder leading the charge. Batman v. Superman came out to bad reviews, but they decided to stick with Snyder leading the charge. Suicide Squad stuck to the Snyder-vision and came out to bad reviews, but they still stuck with Snyder leading the charge. then they finally scored a win with Wonder Woman, which tried to differentiate itself from the other movies of the DCEU by not being Snyder-eque (apart from unnecessary slow-mo). now we come to it, Justice League, the big one, the one we've been building up to with Zack Snyder piloting the ship...and it sucks. so they're left with two options: push it back to do (even more) major rework which is tantamount to saying "We mess up by putting Zack Snyder in charge", or put on a brave face and push forward by present a movie on par with 75% of the DCEU movies at that point and will still make money

They ordered a two-hour movie with a much lighter tone than BVS, and he shows up with a 4+ hour epic that was every bit as grimdark as BVS. I've been having a fairly civil discussion on Twitter with a Snyderite, and they'll tie themselves in knots to blame WB for the failure of the DCEU, including saying that you can't hold BVS not making a billion dollars at the box office because "it wasn't the nature of the film Snyder wanted to make."

I mean it's true... the DC/WB wanted a 2-3 hour movie that had Batman and Superman and breadcrumbs of the larger DC Universe involved... Snyder wanted to make a nonsensical 5+ hour movie with a plot that makes little sense and Batman and Superman become friends over their moms having the same name... that was inspired by the Dark Knight Returns... while not at all setting anything up for it or even truly understanding the story being told in it. also on top of his nonsensical movie he'd also still be missing at least 1 more 5+ hour movie that will never and was never planned on being made... I.E. read this thread on all of his "explanations"

WB asked for a movie that would make at least a billion dollars, and gave it to a guy who decided he didn't want to do that; so while yes, WB are partially to blame for not keeping Snyder on a tighter leash, Snyder still carries most of it for not delivering what WB nor the audiences asked for.

Yeah, I was more just pointing out they are "technically correct" about the "it wasn't the nature of the film Snyder wanted to make." I mean of course that was because the movie Snyder wanted to make was f***ing awful.

Instead you'll end up with four courses of different barbecued steaks, burnt to a crisp on the outside, raw on the inside, with a host of sides that don't compliment the meal at all.

I.E. read this thread on all of his "explanations" hey i totally buy Batman being a sex addict to be part of the movie. it was the major subplot that was going to set up the rest of the DCEU. in Justice League III, Doomsday threatens to take over the world and captures almost all of the League. however there is still hope, because Batman is out there an he'll save them...only he never shows up because he's busy out looking for ass

Yet somehow all the flavor is drained out of the raw inside and a third of it sold to you for an extra charge as part of the "Chef's Cut".

It's hilarious to me that WB stuck with him as long as they did. I don't know whose ass he was kissing, but it was working.
