The first four NES games (not counting the Mario/Duck Hunt pack-in) I owned as a kid were Godzilla, Fester's Quest, X-Men and Yo Noid. That was all I had for about a year or so.

That is an incredibly bad string of games you asked for or got as gifts. If those were my choices, I would rather play nothing but Duck Hunt/Super Mario and just ignore the other games completely.

Not counting the pack ins,I had the set that came with ROB,I had Excitebike,Balloon Fight,Urban Champion and Popeye for the first few years. Cause you could still find 2600 games for 5 bucks or under, instead of getting say 1 or 2 NES games for my birthday I would get 5 or 6 2600 games. The worst system I owned pre my collecting days was the 5200. The games are fun. And the controllers are interesting. But the joysticks are horrible. Best to either skip the system or track down the Wilco controller. Post 92,when I got into actually collecting video games,it is a tie between the game com, which i got for free, and the Jag CD. The latter I bought with my own money. And it had maybe 2 games worth playing.

Fester's Quest was one of the worst games I ever rented, luckily I never owned it. Haven't heard anything about the NES X-men game or even have any idea what Yo Noid is.... But Godzilla, I had that and I LOVED it. Its one of my favorite NES games, right up there with Faxanadu and Zelda for me! It may have been a bit repetitive... And a little easy (Which was sweet relief when half the NES games I owned, like Bayou Billy and Dino Ricki, were seemingly impossible at the time)... But I really liked the music in it and I loved looking at all the references from Toho movies in all the bad guys and obstacles in it. It's sequel though, Godzilla 2, was total garbage... And Super Godzilla as somehow even worse (And its a game I randomly found in a wal-mart in like 2003 - they randomly had a stock of SNES games for some reason).

M.U.S.C.L.E. wrestling for NES is the worst game ever. I'll play that over Deadly Towers any day.

When I had the collections, I had a bunch of bad games. Probably the worst in my opinion was Back to the Future Parts II and III
Also, I wish the Game Gear was optimized better. A portable master system was still a great thing.

I had the Atari Lynx and 3 of the most goddamn frustrating games ever: Ninja Gaiden, Slime World, and Batman Returns.

As a sports fan that basically only plays sports games I still believe the Dreamcast and the VMU was the greatest thing ever...It destroyed the screen peaking and was insanely innovative allowing you to call your plays with strategy from your controller...All Pro 2k8 was a freakin blast

Yo Noid was actually pretty fun. I used to have it, but my copy was stolen when I was a kid. Freaking sucked I'm in the Game Gear camp as well. That thing ate batteries at an unbelievable rate and didn't have that many good games.

Game Gear was f***ing ridiculous. 6 AA batteries and they barely lasted at all. I had mine for 2 weeks before begging my mom for an AC adapter fpr it.
