And speaking of which, I recall somebody throwing a fireball on Raw in like idk 96-97. I don't mean the "HHH hits Chyna", "HHH hits Kane" and "Kane hits X-Pac" angles in like 98 and 99 but earlier, maybe Mankind was involved?
Does anyone remember that or did I dream it?

Good to know that we’re all booing Roman because it’s the cool thing to do and not because his booking is the assiest ass to have ever half-assed.

No I’m watching Roman. He’s boring. Chris you aren’t changing my mind no matter how many times you say it.

I love Jericho, but "Quit being sheep and enjoy this mess of a badly written character" is not what I wanted to read right now.

I was really hoping Jericho would have pitched an idea to help get Roman cheered because Jericho at his best could do that as a heel. But instead he took the "fans boo Roman cause it's cool approach" bit disappointing.
AS for Fireball... I don't remember anything that didn't involve Kane

So the same Jericho who couldn't get Cena cheered during his early 'yay/boo' era thinks he can get the loud boo's to stop for Reigns? Plus him throwing a fireball at Reigns would be seen as super cool. It also wouldn't get him boo'd since we'd all know Reigns is fine. Most old timey Memphis styled stuff won't work for that exact reason. Especially since we know Reigns would still be working house shows during that time.
Go home Chris, you're drunk.

Wow, this is one of the only remember moments I can remember back from that generation given I was a kid so seeing that it's real this entire time is amazing. Thanks!

Every person in the business blames, iwc, smark, smart fans, etc for Roman being booed. It drives me crazy.

Jericho clearly doesn't understand why Cena was booed in the first place.
Roman is like Cena but on a cocaine-speed run in terms of getting pushed too soon.

Why does everybody assume that turning Roman heel will get people cheering him?
If he’s a good heel, people are going to hate him.
Also, why make the assumption? Give it a try to test your hypothesis.

Industry people do not get the Roman hate. It's pretty consistent that he's liked by people in the industry, who see an upside in him, but resented by much of the fanbase. It's not new.
I'm curious why this is, but I think a lot of it is a resentment with the company. We do not like being told who to like, and it's a perfect storm of "Make Roman look strong" from Punk giving a rallying cry, leftover "Cena-nuff" and Rock resentment through familiar ties, and people thinking Dean or Bryan or whoever were shafted for Roman.
I like Roman, but there's sooooooo much there to piss fans off that people in wrestling don't get because, well, they're not fans. They don't see it from the bleachers, they work with the guy and see the positives that fans stopped even pretending to give a shit about years ago.

I mean wouldn’t it be better for a top heel to get cheered than a the top face that closes out wrestlemanias to get booed?

I think most wrestlers simply see Roman as a great guy who is really good at what he does that gets booed for reasons that make no logical sense.

As much as Chris understands what it is and just showed it with his feud with Omega, it kills me when everyone is crazy except for the ones booking the character is the go to response.

Just stay the course! He just literally had the main event at wrestlemania where people didn't even bother booing him... you're doing great! I mean wouldn’t it be better for a top heel to get cheered than a the top face that closes out wrestlemanias to get booed? and again if he was getting cheered as a face... have him shut the crowd down they'll boo him. No one cheered when the Rock told the crowd that it was not sing along time with the great one for instance.
