Why are you towing the company line when you aren't even there?

Why are you towing the company line when you aren't even there? Probably because he's said to be close friends with both Roman and Vince.

The fireball attack would have been met with "one more time!" chants. Knowing these crowds, more like "WE WANT ACID! WE WANT ACID!" *clap clap clap-clap-clap*

For as much crap as people give Jim Cornette about being stuck in the past, I feel like Jericho is in the exact same boat.

If Chris Jericho fired a fireball at Roman Reigns the fans would cheer, the only solution to Reigns is turn him heel, and as Jericho says - they will then begin to cheer him. He should have turned heel the night after Mania 31, and they wouldnt have still been going through all this 3 years later.

In the time they've wasted trying to force the babyface Roman run, they:
- Created the New Day as delusional faces that everyone saw as a potential "New Nation" but fell out of graces quickly due to the terrible 'black gospel' stuff they were doing - Turned them heel as they leaned into the "we're clapping and staying positive so we don't hurt people," celebrated as their heel antics showed a more aggressive tone - Due to crowd support of this dynamic (and introducing other characteristics that make them what they are today), came back STRONG as megafaces and became one the top merch-sellers and 'faces of the company' they've had in the last 15 years.
Nobody in the WWE or professional wrestling industry can tell me that a similar path for Roman wouldn't do him wonders. They had the perfect opportunity to turn him heel MULTIPLE times in the last year (after 'retiring' the Undertaker, and losing to Braun in the Ambulance Match), and kept brushing it off a week or two later as "spur of the moment" crap. I for one hope they have him lose this Friday, and just have him snap and start beating the bloody hell out of everything that moves due to frustration. KEEP him heel all the way into Summerslam at minimum, dedicate some real weeks/months of time to just regaining his 'silent badass' persona he had a few years back. Make his promos very brief and dedicated solely to explaining his mission to destroy everything that moves, and you can very easily have yourselves a comeback into good graces in time.
It WILL take time to win back people he has lost, but it's not impossible. They refuse to even try though, and that's what's most frustrating about the whole thing.

With all this said, I actually like Roman and I think him as a killer heel would not only be awesome, but he would be so badass that he would be over like rover for it

And speaking of which, I recall somebody throwing a fireball on Raw in like idk 96-97. I don't mean the "HHH hits Chyna", "HHH hits Kane" and "Kane hits X-Pac" angles in like 98 and 99 but earlier, maybe Mankind was involved? Does anyone remember that or did I dream it? Was it The Executioner maybe? Nah that Mankind/Taker thing from earlier. Throughout my entire life I remember having flashes towards that moment even talking about it with my friend in the 4th grade since that moment scared the f*** outta me as a kid lol. Seeing that it happened in early 1997, when I was best friends with the kid I talked about around then, made sense to me. And I literally had no idea that Taker and Kane had numerous fireball scenes in the late 90s. Like shit, that's one of the only ways you can get one over them.

Comic book industry. Marvel DC literally has a character that was made to mock comic book fans.

Im not sure Cena is the best example. He still got a lot more positive reactions in addition to the boos. In theory he also stood for something and stayed true to that, Roman switches gears so often that he doesn't. Standing up for yourself in defiance of jeers is respectable, changing yourseld to appease them isn't. Yeah, the it's cool to boo the face see like Cena! Ignores that pretty much whenever Cena got booed there was also a very loud LET'S GO CENA! half of the chant. Roman doesn't have that. the only few times that Cena didn't get that was at One Night Stand where Cena was absolutely booked as the heel. Why are you towing the company line when you aren't even there? Probably because he's said to be close friends with both Roman and Vince. and he is there. he is still listed as active on the WWE roster and will be at the Greatest Royal Rumble. He has some sorta deal with them.

In The Shield, he was a silent badass killer Out of The Shield, he is simply an ass.
How hard is it for the WWE and people in the business to understand this?

My car wouldn’t start this morning. So I threw a fireball at that piece of shit. It immediately turned into a Ferrari.

Is WWE the only business that blames its own fans for it's own problems? Just look at how many "Millennials are ruining the _______ industry" articles that have popped up in the last few years. Corporations just can't understand why the current generation doesn't want what they're selling. I don't know, I do see too much 'all video games suck and are too easy, unlike in the nes days when every game was good and unfairly hard' over on gamefaqs and YouTube a lot. Am I the only one who remembers Hogan/Warrior fireball?

Every person in the business blames, iwc, smark, smart fans, etc for Roman being booed. It drives me crazy. Not everyone in the business, just everyone in WWE. The company can do no wrong, it's such an obvious corporate culture thing.

Wrong. If they turned him heel, they would try to make him a "cool heel" like Kevin Nash and people would still hate him. Also, turning him heel to "get him over" is NOT turning him heel at all.
