Saw the movie yesterday and thought it was great. Everyone did a fantastic job.

Nice to see David Harbour have more success with this red superhero unlike the last time.

Watching this now. If not for the action sequences, I'm not sure I wouldn't have turned it off already. Like, it's fine, but the action is what's making it for me so far. I'm at the 40 minute mark, so it's possible it'll start to pick up. As I type, I'm enjoying the banter between Johansson and Pugh. Will give my full thoughts when I'm done. EDIT: So, I liked it. It definitely felt more like a Phase 1/Phase 2 stand alone movie, where the stakes were very much self-contained, but it worked for this film. Florence Pugh was my favorite part of the movie and that is NOT a slight to any of the other actors, who were phenomenal. But she was just a joy to watch for the entire film and had some of the best lines in the movie. I definitely won't mind seeing her again. Scarlett Johansson did a fantastic job as well, and if this was indeed the last we see of her in the MCU, then it was a very good send off. David Harbour was fun in his role and everyone else played their parts beautifully. Is it my favorite MCU film? No, that's still Civil War. But as far as the self-contained, action-centric films go, it's certainly up there. {Spoiler}As for the post-credits scene, I honestly felt it went a bit too far towards funny for the nature of it, at least after Julia Louis-Dreyfus showed up. But Yelena going after Clint? I'm down, especially if it leads to the MCU debut of Kate Bishop, or even Clint's daughter taking up the Hawkeye mantle.

Well, I guess we won't be seeing him return for Blade. Update: Ah, the old "my comments were taken out of context" excuse.

Honestly? Can’t say I blame her, really.
If her contract relied on it to be a box office exclusive and they refused to negotiate to accommodate? Yeah, she should be paid for that.

I was wondering when the direct to (insert streaming service here) concept was going to cause an issue. From what I’ve been seeing, it’s been an issue for a while in the WGA in terms of negotiations and it also was JUST an issue with Dune so I can see it potentially snowballing in the future from this.

I have heard lot of places have renegotiated contracts when they went streaming and box office... the fact Disney didn't want to is a bit of an outlier.
This might have been part of the reason why they didn't want to release BW on demand... but a lot of the Demand stuff definitely cut into the Box Office results probably more than any other Movie that went this way.

Isn't this similar to what Disney was doing with RDJ back in the early years of the MCU? When I first saw this I was like come on ScarJo.... then I read up on it and I see her side. Disney will always try to Disney.

Also, I wonder if Rocky is looking close at this considering Jungle Cruise is going to be like Black Widow.

If things don’t go well, it would not be the first time Disney dropped her.

As soon as Disney decided they were gonna start doing simultaneous theatrical/on-demand releases, they should've started renegotiating contracts. Didn't Warner Bros. do something like that after Legendary Pictures griped about WB putting all their movies up on HBO Max?

Didn't Warner Bros. do something like that after Legendary Pictures griped about WB putting all their movies up on HBO Max? Yeah, they were forced to do it for GvK and Dune because they almost didn’t get them under their Same Day thing until they paid the money to do it.

Regardless, if they broke her contract she's entitled to sue. Just pay up, $200 billion company.

I mean... come on, Disney. You're charging people $30 on top of the subscription fee to watch it early. I don't think it hurts your bottom line to pay her what she's entitled. Be more like Mickey Mouse and less like Scrooge McDuck.

Disney can slam their collective dick in a car door for trying to hide behind COVID-19 as being an excuse.
