For the most part the Hart clan are assholes. The only children of Stu that you can count on not do some evil bullshit are Bret, Ross, and Allison Hart. The rest are assholes. Didn't one of them have a "Hi Bret!" sign too? Yep that's right. All of this around the time Martha Hart sued the wwe for Owen's accident.

God, that's depressing on so many levels. It even looked like at one point that Diana (I think it's her behind him) was lifting his arm to wave to the crowd before the camera cut away. What a low move by some of the Hart clan; no wonder Bret was disgusted with them. For the most part the Hart clan are assholes. The only children of Stu that you can count on not do some evil bullshit are Bret, Ross, and Allison Hart. The rest are assholes. I don't remember hearing anything bad about Keith and Bret spoke well of him in his book. But yeah, for the most part you are right.

He created a fake Hart Brothers Academy where not a single Hart brother taught how to wrestle. In that academy he beat the f*** out of Chris Jericho in his first day. Real tough guy, a never was bitter loser stretching an eighteen year old kid just because he could. Stu is a legend in wrestling but probably one of the worst parents ever.

I think Jericho said in his 2nd book that he and Benoit both thought this was f***ed up and called Bret about it

Wasn't aware of that, so you were right in the first place. It's hard to call him one of the worst parents ever though. Considering he had 12 children that were raised in the wrestling business, it's always going to be an uphill battle. He's not Fritz Von Erich, but he's not Dory Funk Sr. either.

I look at it like this. Iron Mike Dibiase and Roddy Piper are the best parents in wrestling's history. Stu is in the middle bottom tier. Now Fritz is at the absolute bottom.

Whats this wheeling him out in 2001? Am I forgetting something? They were in Calgary for a Raw in 2001, and he, Diana, Bruce and other family were at ringside, and they just had him stand up (or rather, be picked up) for a standing ovation. That was the extent of it, but it is tough to see him like that, and I can get why Bret was livid it happened. You don't even have to watch the video. You can tell just by the preview image how long gone Stu is. And yeah, they followed that up with a Montreal Screwjob callback with Benoit getting screwed.

I was going to ask about Keith as he seemed okay by Hart standards. Apparently not.

I don't get what the Harts were trying to get out of this. Bret and Owen are the only siblings that contributed to the WWE significantly, Anvil and Bulldog aside. Why would Vince McMahon want to keep a relationship with untalented, hanger-ons?

Why would Vince McMahon want to keep a relationship with untalented, hanger-ons? Because the last thing they saw themselves as was untalented hanger-ons.

There's a paralel uniiverse that Bruce Hart lives on where he is a huge superstar when in reality people just know him because he married an underage girl...

But Vince McMahon couldn't realistically keep the relationship as a fruitful business development other than a PR exercise as explained. He's probably profited more off a Bret Hart DVD than any interaction with the entirety of the remaining Hart clan.

Outside of there Dads (long extinct) promotion and with the exceptions of Bret and Owen (who was a midcarder at best) they have done nothing. The fact they didn’t give a crap about sh@& about there brothers death or the fact a Court case was going on at the time just so they could get a cheap payday out of Vince who needed that PR at the time. They come across as leeches. It’s ironic that Bret has a close relationship with Nattie and her Dad given that her Mum and he had real heat with each other though.

He explains in his book why he remained close to Jim Neidhart. Bret asked Neidhart to please not get involved in the drama during that time. Jim remained loyal to Bret and they remain friends even today. Neidhart had the decency to not exploit Owen's death or Stu to beg Vince for a job.
