Bret gets stick sometimes, some justified, much of it not, but the fact he allowed them to get involved in the comeback feud with Vince is a mind blowing show of forgiveness. And even then, he was pretty much having to corral the entire family that weekend (well, I'm sure Nattie and probably Tyson and Harry helped too) to keep them under control... I'd forgotten that part about Martha and the whiteboard. UGH. No wonder she wants NOTHING to do with wrestling.

The thing about Martha is according to Bret and even some others is she never liked Owen wrestling and constantly wanted him to retire. Supposedly the game plan for Owen was to wrestle a few more years to save up for retirement and be a firefighter in Calgary. Granted, I can't blame her for hating wrestling even more when your husband died in a stupid stunt gimmick. Ironically, I think something that may have helped corral the family was their hatred of Martha. Since the whole reason to bring them together as a HOF induction was to get Owen in the HOF in pretty much the only way they legally could. Bret also said getting Stu in was important, but I feel like he would have eventually went in as a stand alone induction.

They go over the booking meeting where of course Bruce Hart was trying to take over and plan spots to get himself over.

Part of the reason Bret Hart softened his stance with WWE was for the next generation of Harts. Partly because he saw himself as a custodian to the Hart dynasty wrestling legacy, and the premiere place to compete is WWE. But mainly because he's Uncle Bret and loves the kids and wants to see them do well. He thought that he was best placed to help their WWE careers develop so opened up for doing business with McMahon again. Bret did actually make amends with Vince before Natalya, Tyson Kid and Harry Smith signed with WWE. But I am sure it didn't hurt them and maybe they wouldn't have got there if Bret and Vince's relationship never improved. From Bret's book, it seemed like Vince was the one who made the first step. Calling him in the hospital after his stroke had an impact on Bret that made him willing to rebuild their relationship. But my point is if you know anything about Teddy, Bret most likely had nothing to do with Teddy losing his job in WWE. Yes, Bret did drop a lot of issues after his stroke. But in subsequent shoots, he said he thought of the kids and how he could help them. Didn't know about Teddy blaming Bret for being sacked. All I heard was Teddy gave Vince McMahon a Teddy remark and got canned.

Teddy was the youngest wrestler ever signed by the wWE at the time of his first signing. Teddy being Teddy blew that chance. He got a second chance and on the cusp of being called up, he blew that chance and nearly ruined everything for TJ, Nattie and Harry in the process. Bret rebuilt bridges with the WWE to help the next generation of Harts, Teddy not benefiting from that is the fault of one person and that's Teddy Hart.

I can't say I've ever seen much of the Teddy Hart's matches, whether they were in TNA or in Ring of Honor, if any for that matter, but I have heard a lot of horror stories about him. It's no wonder that WWE wanted nothing to do with him.

So that should tell us a fair amount. Every single story I've heard about Bruce Hart makes me sad. He comes across as the worst kind of jock asshole, who can't let go of the 'glory days' and can't accept the fact he never amounted to anything. Always trying to put his more successful brothers down, always trying to steal their thunder, never able to accept that they were just better wrestlers than him.

Wasn't Bruce coming up with spots to get himself over in the Hart Family/Lawler and the Knights match too? I heard the Bret/Owen angle we got that spawned from that match was supposed to have Bruce in Owen's place, but Bret thought Owen was a better choice for the jealous brother thing.

What did Teddy do to get released from WWE?
I've heard plenty of things about stuff he's done in other organizations, but not WWE.

Nattie has said Teddy marches to the beat of his own drum, which is probably why Teddy didn't stick around very long.

Apparently he took one of the Knights (the biggest and least experienced) to one side and started giving him a long script. In Bret's words "presumably with Bruce as Rhett Butler.

Vince apparently pulled them all into into a meeting just for his own amusement, because he knew it would be a shitshow. Bruce came up with some wacky idea to have Batista run in during the match, to which someone says, “Batista is kind of busy tonight, Bruce”.
