In my post you responded to I said "I", "I'm" or "me" 13 times. Even the title of this thread says "I'm done with AJ Styles-" rather than "many people" are done. I'm clearly talking about myself and my opinions here. Nowhere did I say "a lot of people agreed", I said "people" as in more than 1 person. If you need proof of more than 1 person saying it in general then you can look at the amount of people who liked my post and the comments of this thread. Nowhere was this a comparison between who agrees and disagrees, it's an opinion that more than 1 person shares. That goes back to people being defensive about AJ and his run run because you somehow thought since I disliked his run and disagreed with it to immediately think I said a lot agreed with me when it's not. A lot of people misunderstood even the opening post thinking I'm only talking about matches as in when I mention "being impressed" as in people can only be impressed with matches forgetting people can be impressed in promos, random segments, just overall there's a lot of different areas of what impresses people rather than matches. I even mentioned promos in the first post for that. Overall though, nah you're off base here. You can disagree all you want, that's not changing an opinion that I and others have. I don’t think I tried to change your opinion, just said didn’t seem like many agreed. You seem to be the one getting defensive. Like others have said, what does saying "not many people agree with you" have to do with my own opinion? Saying "not many people agree with you" is basically the same as saying "well others think-" as if that'll change my opinion. That's a mob mentality mindset that I don't abide by. What I've bolded is why I responded to you, you just said. The post you responded to, my post, said nothing of the sort. I even clarified this before. officialfan.proboards.com/post/14078204/threadYou're wrong in this case. Rather than admitting you're wrong you're dodging that and acting like you bringing up others' opinions will somehow offset my own. I've got my own opinion, others in this thread agree with that opinion as well. Just because many others don't agree doesn't mean we're wrong. If that's how you debate then shit, we got nothing to speak about. That's not what adults do.

Just to be clear: I fully acknowledge that sometimes the talent itself needs to shoulder blame for not performing up to snuff. But when Bray Wyatt has a really bad run as WWE Champion...then Randy Orton has a really bad run as WWE Champion...then Shinsuke Nakamura has a really bland run on the main WWE roster...then Jinder Mahal has a really bad run as WWE Champion...then Bobby Roode has a really bland run on the main WWE roster...then AJ Styles has a really bad run as WWE Champion... I dunno, at a certain point there's something much bigger at play than just one guy's title matches not living up to expectations. I maintain that Cena to Wyatt to Orton to Jinder run did damage to SDL on top of the other cracks in SDL's original armor. SDL became worse after the brand split happened I'd say but yeah that title crap didn't help it. Once Ambrose, Miz, Alexa, Wyatt, Slater/Rhyno, hell Kalisto, once that happened SDL took a huge hit. Ambrose, Miz and Alexa immediately became the focal of their divisions, Wyatt was a midcarder who was always around, it was rough. It took them a while to recover and to this day it's still not great on all levels. I give them props for some situations but today's SDL is skippable for me.

One thing that SDL missed out on was not building on Ziggler superkicking Lawler in the chest. That was such an irredeemable asshole move. How do you NOT follow up on that?

Each to their own, but I am very happy to have AJ carrying the WWE championship - a sight I never thought I would see - and am loving every minute. For me, he is the best performer in WWE and in exactly the spot he deserves to be. “The house that AJ Styles built” is more than just a catchphrase for AJ - as far as Smackdown goes since his debut it is 100% true in my book.
Smackdown is not a great show at the moment, so I think it is natural to point fingers at the person carrying its top belt. However, without AJ things would be a hell of a lot worse - as he has been the one constant shining light throughout it all - especially during the Jinder/awful booking nonsense endured in the last year or so.
With Daniel Bryan back, Seth Rollins killing it on Raw and AJ being World Champ - I feel a bit of hope that the overall product has the potential to turn a corner for the first time in a while.

Ziggler had a ton of misses during that run but thankfully he's with Drew now and surprisingly Raw's doing way better than SDL. In the end though there's certain stars who do great regardless of brand and stars who do great depending on brand. Same with there being stars who can't do great regardless of what they're being handed.
