Here's a look at the current standings of Sports Graphic Number's wrestling fan vote. The top five is almost the same as the finish last year (with the exception of Ikemen passing Kenny, and Nakamura passing Okada), but the rest of the list is a bit different.

When they face each other, Okada will be 10 days away from a two year reign as champion

Don’t sleep on Andreza Panda y’all. That’s the next Braun Strowman we’re looking at with him.

When they face each other, Okada will be 10 days away from a two year reign as champion That fact actually makes me worried about Omega’s chances. Still think he wins, but wouldn’t be surprised if Gedo keeps the belt on Okada so he can have a 2 year reign. But man, I feel that would completely torpedo the already struggling Cow Palace show

That would be supreme idiocy. It's basically a two year reign, from Dominion 2016 until Dominion 2018. Does that extra 10 days really matter all that much? Omega basically has to win this for a variety of reasons: 1) There is nowhere else left to go with Okada as champion if he retains. 2) As noted, the Cow Palace show needs to sell some tickets and Omega coming in as champion for a defense would help sell out that building, whereas him jobbing via whatever means would probably kill all interest in it. 3) Omega needs the win anyway.
You know though, when I heard Ibushi will be at ringside I started having Russo swerve heel turn thoughts. Though it would make zero sense, given that Omega would have a ton of guys to back him up while Ibushi would have basically no one. I think we're more likely to get Omega vs. Cody II in San Fran for the IWGP title, with Ibushi taking the G1. At least those puzzle pieces fit.

If Omega doesn’t walk out with the belt, I’ll be truly stunned. But I really don’t see Okada retaining as a strong possibility. Gedo’s already given him the accolades of V12 and the longest Heavyweight reign ever. That defense against Tanahashi is probably going to be the bow wrapped on it.
I feel that Omega finally besting him at the event he failed to do so last year is the more likely narrative they’ll go with, on top of wanting to boost the Cow Palace show. Besides, Okada’s G1 losses last year do prove he’s not invincible and can be upset.

Would Omega being champion really boost that Cow Palace show? Everyone knows he’s gonna be there anyway.
I think the show is struggling because All In and Summerslam happen relatively close to it and wrestling fans aren’t rich.

You can clearly see they’re not hurting for ticket sales in Japan though and Naito is way more popular than Omega in that market.

It feels like in general the shine has come off of a lot of NJPW stars. I wonder how much of that is because of All In, and how much the BTE side of Bullet Club has really dominated the public consciousness in the West. I've noticed if I'm wearing a BC shirt, people who initiate conversation with me look at me like I have 12 heads when I say I'm not the biggest Young Bucks fan, but that I do like Tama Tonga and Taiji Ishimori.

As Ospreay is not in the BotSJ finals, it's safe to assume that Mysterio will be facing someone else at Dominion.
I see Ospreay defending against Ishimori, while Mysterio faces Scurll, Takahashi or KUSHIDA.
