So I’m reading it would move to Fridays. That’s also great for ticket sales (assuming it stays live.). A Friday night show where most people will not have to worry about work or school the next day.

Meltzer even mentioned that the other day. I’m paraphrasing but it was basically “If they end up getting $400-450mil. for both shows, they can definitely afford to bring back pyro which everyone seems to care so f***ing much about that I keep getting asked about it” And for some reason, I laughed my ass off It’s true. Who cared about the pyro until they took it away? Wait, pyro was taken away for financial reasons? I thought part of the reason was also safety concerns in certain venues, which I could totally see being a reason the pyro stays away as we're becoming such an safety sensitive country....

It’s true. Who cared about the pyro until they took it away? *raises hand* From entrances to celebrating the hour change on Nitro, pyro has always been huge for me. Yeah, I liked pyro... I didn't miss it terribly but some entrances needed them... especially when they still motion for the pyro and nothing happens... I never really liked the hour change on Nitro pyro however.

This. It reminds me when Smackdown started and everything cool happened on that show. UPN , CW, My9 aren’t FOX, but it was still network tv and Smackdown was still the B show. You said it yourself. Those networks weren’t FOX. They weren’t close to eyeballs that Fox gets.

Including probably a fire marshal or at the very least someone licensed to handle it.

Who cared about the pyro until they took it away? I totally agree. Here we are with new TV deals that could completely change the future of WWE way beyond just putting more money in the bank for them and Meltzer is getting a bunch of questions about f***ing pyro. It’s a very, very realistic possibility that Vince could sell controlling interest in WWE because of this deal. Ever since UFC sold, it’s been pretty well known that if Vince got a similar offer for WWE he’d be willing to sell. They currently have a market cap of $4.37 billion, that’s almost 3 times what it was a year ago. If he hasn’t already, he’ll definitely be getting offers soon, one of them probably from Fox itself, and it would not surprise me if WWE sells.

Correct. Google says that UFC sold for $4 billion; WWE stock finished today valued at almost $4.5 billion. The crazy thing is that when the market opened this morning, WWE’s value was just shy of $4 billion, around 3.96 or something like that. Pretty healthy gain in just one day! This day is going in the WWE record books. I can't do anything but give Vince and his people props because as much as I dislike some of the product, if there's anything Vince knows it's how to do these meetings. He did an amazing job here. Agreed. Actually it makes me feel a bit hopeful because more eyes are going to be coming soon that they'll want to keep around and they're going to want to put a good taste in FOX's mouth. So I'm assuming we're gonna get some more compelling creative. Between all this WWE money and how the indie scene is at an all time high, even tertiary aspects like wrestling podcasts are it's own successful product, with a bit of luck we might be getting one of those fabled boom periods again soon.

Most importantly, this buys them like 5 more Mania main events for Roman.

It's a different story now with this extra money. Sure, you have more money but you've got more people eying and criticizing you. Overall the business looks to be improving, I just hope that the creative portion does as well because if so then this could be the start of a new generation. Like, the real start start.

It’s incredible how little the majority of this board does not understand the business side of WWE. I don’t know why it gets to me, but alas.

This could potentially be good for ROH. If WWE does well on broadcast TV, it could potentially get their syndicated show on more networks and in better timeslots on stations around the country.

With all the money being thrown around, maybe we get a new company out there somewhere who wants to carve some out for themselves. Maybe a fresh company who wants to offer an alternative product. Maybe already existing companies get more attention and more cash themselves. WWE doing well can trickle down. This is good for the whole industry.

For people I can assume it's poor tv shouldn't equal more money but WWE as a business is booming and trending even if the product itself on TV isn't optimal

You think somewhere in a room right now, Vince's inner circle of family and advisors are begging and pleading with him to stop his nebulously defined XFL revival plans so they can play nice with Fox and get some sweet plug time on their NFL programming?

Not that it matters to much in Vince's mind, but 205 live is dead, unless they move it to Friday night or cut the live portion of it
