Getting heat from other wrestlers after tweeting a joke about Emma's WWE departure last year: "It was definitely a difficult situation. I've worked so hard and spent years trying to brand myself and to show the world that Lio Rush is a top prospect in the professional wrestling world. So it was a bit rough to see so many people turn on me for that, but I've owned up to my mistakes. I have said my apologies. What else can you do? You live, you make mistakes, and you learn. I know a big thing that I tweeted out shortly after that -- 'a mistake shouldn't be your attacker, it should be your teacher'. I've definitely learned from that situation. I definitely have not let that situation change the pacing of me succeeding in anything." wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2018/0525/641214/lio-rush-launches-rap-career-video/

I've totally learned from mistakes, like I said in this sick tweet about learning.

Reading that, I was thinking about how much I like apologies when people just hold their hands up and say "That was a really stupid thing I said, I'm dumb, I'm sorry", and whenever it is brought up again they say something along the same lines. It's owning it, understanding what was said and that people were upset and...you know.... an actual apology. There was something a little off about this; "a difficult situation", "rough to see so many people turn on me"....it just reads a little more like he was wronged than he DID something wrong, so I went back and read his apology at the time: www.f4wonline.com/wwe-news/lio-rush-apologizes-tweet-about-wwe-releasing-emma-245386Yeah....that's a pretty bullshit apology. You made the situation of someone at your work getting fired into a joke...that's stupid and mean, it shouldn't be too hard to understand. You should feel bad about what you did, not feel bad about how people treated you.

I guess these are the things that happen when you dish out the heat, but can't take it back.

In another lifetime, Lio might have got another chance with the fans, but it's not that sort of era anymore.
WWE might give him another shot, the Locker Room might even give him another shot, but sorry Lio, the fans aren't giving you a second chance.
Social Media is forever. Even if you delete your posts, you can be sure someone took a screenshot of it.
And nobody is going to ever forget.

His statement sounds more like 'I can't believe I do all these flips and people still won't let me be an asshole' and the apology essentially says 'I would never do exactly what I did!'

He went to the Hulk Hogan school of apology.
How a normal person apologizes: "I'm sorry about (thing I did). I shouldn't have done (thing I did).
How you apologize after visiting the school: "It is unfortunate that people were bothered by what I said. I've really learned and grown as a person. Blah blah blah something about looking inside yourself at the spiritual level etc."

"I've worked so hard and spent years trying to brand myself and to show the world that Lio Rush is a top prospect in the professional wrestling world."
So has nearly every other person in wrestling. You are in an industry where you are infinitely replaceable, so don't be stupid on twitter.

He said something stupid on social media, but he didn't physically harm anyone else or threaten anyone's livelihood. He's still a young guy and is still learning about many things. If people can't forgive him for this, then they really need to take a look in the mirror, because it's kind of hypocritical when you think about it.

...people still aren't over this? It's less not being over it, and more that it's the most noteworthy thing he's done since being in WWE so far. It's either that or, "This sure is a guy who exists."

I mean, this kind of thing would happen in any job. You can't come in as a new hire, make a joke about someone higher on the totem pole being fired, and not expect some shit. I don't care if it's washing dishes at the local diner or training to be a WWE wrestler; not gonna get far being a dick.

Nothing to do with any of his tweets but Lio Rush isn’t even worth the effort of developing IMO.
