Has there ever been a less offensive thing that got blown up as hard as this? The dude made a stupid joke when a co-worker got fired, and there’s still people going “f*** this guy we’ll never forget!” There are degrees of outrage, man. I can hang on to Hogan being a racist asshole. I can hang on to JBL acting like a total shitbird in the locker room. But this doesn’t even measure up to the dumb shit wrestlers have said and done. Next to nobody is though. Like, I think Lio Rush is the only dude that's seriously said anything about this incident in ages. Nobody is talking about it, but when his name/the situation gets brought up, folks are still salty about it.

When somebody does something dumb now, it seems like whenever anybody interviews them, no matter how long it's been, the interviewer has to ask "Hey, remember when you did that stupid thing that pissed a bunch of people off? Let's re-open that wound, eh?"

Oh yeah it was a dumb thing to say for sure, but I think he got too much hate for it I agree especially with other wrestlers like Bray Wyatt getting on their high horse and saying that he won't be welcome in the locker room and all that crap. Like I said though his lame apology didn't help his situation and I think got him even more hate. If he would've just did a straight up sincere apology I think people would've been a little more forgiving. Shocker. Man wears fedora. White knights on twitter Bray cheated on his wife, yet gets high and mighty over a semi mean twitter pun 😅

I've said way too much stupid shit in my life to hold anything against someone else saying stupid shit like what Lio said. Just learn some tact, dude.

And then they poked that head in one more time to start the whole thing over again.

The real tragedy is that this is like the most significant Lio Rush Twitter blunder, and not the time he pulled an A-Ry and excitedly thanked Daniel Bryan for talking about Rush.

Look the overblown "There will be no forgiveness" thing about Lio's comment might be overblown but this? Nah man f*** this guy forever, his flippy spot monkey stuff is nothing compared to the majesty of Moving Pictures, that is f***ing sacrilege.

He doesn’t deserve forgiveness for being so mean. By the way, I hate Roman Reigns because he is butt cheeks,Vince McMahon is a senile fool, and Kevin Dunn is a buck-toothed clown who should be fired.

I might be wrong, but I always interpreted Bray's tweet about Rush "not lasting with the wolves" to mean "keep up that attitude, and you're not gonna last long here, cuz you're gonna piss off the wrong person" than any "locker room etiquette" stuff.

I'm seeing infinitely less salt in this thread about what Lio Rush said than there is about the idea people are salty about what he said. This feels like one of those situations being perpetuated through someone saying it's a thing than it actually being a thing. There's like one dude who made an "I don't like this guy f*** him" post and everyone else vaguely bothered by it just doesn't like his shitty take on the situation. It's little more than joke fodder now.

And then they poked that head in one more time to start the whole thing over again. Alex Riley could rescue a young child from a burning building, and somehow there'd be someone there from a wrestling blog to ask him "Hey, remember that time you talked shit about AJ Lee and pissed everybody, including Kevin Steen, off? Tell me about that fighting for your life in the 20x20."

EDIT: Since we’re talking about the dude, I love that he rides on Babatunde’s shoulders during his entrance. It’s the closest thing to Puffy on Chappelle’s Show that we’re getting. Master Blaster!

That's actually quite sad. Every single one of us has said something stupid, made a joke that bombed, or said something that someone took the wrong way than intended. It's quite absurd how people pile on someone as if they never have but then even after they apologize they claim the apology wasn't good enough...... because it seems like to a lot of people its' too much fun to get high fives and likes from the mob so they have to keep it going. Here's the thing: An apology isn't "I'm sorry you got bent out of shape about what I said, and I regret how it came back on me", which was essentially his stance. That's just...not an apology. that's literally the classic "I'm sorry you feel that way" non-apology.

In another lifetime, Lio might have got another chance with the fans, but it's not that sort of era anymore. WWE might give him another shot, the Locker Room might even give him another shot, but sorry Lio, the fans aren't giving you a second chance. Social Media is forever. Even if you delete your posts, you can be sure someone took a screenshot of it. And nobody is going to ever forget. Literally no one cares this much. Hell if he didn't bring it up with this non apology how many people would even remember it at this point?

Dude brought it up himself... no one was talking about a Lio Rush match and was interrupted with "Well you know he said something stupid on Twitter about Emma being fired!"

Yeah, it kind of sucks, but it's what people wanted, so it's what we have.
