What's the Tom Hanks film where he goes back to community college? Larry Crowne, you may have picked a winner there, everything about it was average It was a movie starring Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts, it would have been one of the top movies of 1991 if it hadn't come out 20 years later. Anyways, I have a weird fascination with movies you kinda forgot even existed. It seems like there's a ton more movies like that now. that barely even show up on syndicated TV, not even on Pluto TV as free movies. One movie that I just remembered today that's like that is The Invasion. Remember that? The big budget remake of Invasion Of The Body Snatchers starring Daniel Craig and Nicole Kidman? Yeah, they don't remember it either.

Showtime with Eddie Murphy and Robert DeNiro. An decent way to kill 95 minutes, but nothing you'd go out of your way to see. Heck, I only bought the dvd because I had some money left on a gift card and couldnt find anything else I wanted.

Jerry Maguire. How it was nominated for (and won some) Oscars is completely beyond me.

Dan in Real Life.
So average it pissed me off because I so wanted to love everything Steve Carrell in it due to his Daily Show and the Office work (maybe 40 year Old virgin too but I forget the timeline exactly off hand)

Any number of Rom-Coms fit this description. You rarely leave feeling like your world was changed, but you rarely ever come away feeling like you wasted your time. They’re actually pretty handy when your on Netflix with your gf looking for a movie Can’t go wrong with some of them

All Tom Cruise movie of about the last decade. None are outright terrible but none have been really groundbreaking, or inspirational or worth talking about the day after you've seen them.

The Island, starring Ewan McGregor. Anything starring Danny Dyer.

Of the movies I’ve seen this year one that may apply to this topic is Wine Country (2019).
Great cast. Weak scripts. Balances out to make a pretty average movie.

That one where Owen Wilson and the Nard Dog are trying to find their biological father?

Anyone seen the Max Steel movie?
It's like a knock-off of the Power Rangers reboot, except they could only afford ONE ranger.

Australia has made a lot of good films. But for every memorable Australian film (The Castle, Animal Kingdom, Mad Max: Fury Road) there must be about a dozen forget ones (Horse Play, The Nugget, Razzle Dazzle, Takeaway, Dirty Deeds, any of the animated Blinky Bill films)

Avatar. Painfully average and unbelievably popular. Can’t say I’m sorry that a sequel hasn’t been made.

National Treasure has a nice cast, decent plot and some good action. But is hardly memorable and sort of there in a oh that was that fun adventure movie with Nic Cage and Sean Bean.
The definition of average.

Tomb Raider, the recent one.
Shame, because Vikander really put in the work. Glad she's getting a sequel and hope it's an improvement.

The Robocop and Total Recall remakes. ESPECIALLY Total Recall.
What's the point of taking 2 iconic, over the top sci-fi movies and making them as pedestrian AF?
