Christopher Daniels will never not be the first guy that springs to mind when this question is asked. I still have hope that he is signed for a short stint and then becomes a trainer in NXT. Wouldn't teaching the rookies how to make Appletinis be frowned upon?

Eddie Kingston. When he's in check, dude is phenomenal on the mic and is solid in the ring. Problem is, there's only one dude who can consistently keep King in check, and that's Quack.
On topic: The fact that Matt Taven isn't currently tooling around somewhere on Smackdown is f***ing baffling to me.

"From back in the day"? Hmmmmm.....Reckless Youth, Chris Daniels, The Briscoes, Nigel McGuinness (as a wrestler), Takeshi Morishima, Jack Evans, Eddie Edwards, Trent Acid (RIP), and Matt Cross. Reckless Youth was the name that immediately came to mind. It seemed like he was all over PWI magazines back then and he never really made it to any of the big companies. McGuinness was signed but failed his physical if I remember correctly.

Reckless Youth was rumored to join in the 90s but nothing came out of it.
I still don't know why they never even considered Steve Corino in 2001.

I think Reckless Youth was at least in developmental for a bit, I don't know if that counts as being signed or not. Yeah, he had a "cup of coffee" developmental, pre-OVW, even, but I think Quack said he was really unhappy being in Memphis, and with the environment in general, but I may be misquoting that.

When they started appearing to get serious about the women wrestlers, I figured Cheerleader Melissa would be a no-brainer.

I honestly feel like Taven's trajectory would've followed Bennett's more closely if he hadn't torn his knee because there were all of those rumors going around then about his contract running out, but the injury happening at Bennett's final match pretty much derailed everything, and ultimately Matt resigned with ROH, otherwise I really believe he would've at least been in TNA with Mike and Maria.

The Motor City Machine Guns. There tag team game was on another level and they could have added a lot to either Raw or Smackdown. I’m also surprised Alex Shelley never got a run as a singles star. The guy has a ton of charisma and can work his ass off. Totally agree the Machine Guns were a missed opportunity. My guess is they were considered too small when at the peak.

Just the thoughts... Reckless Youth reportedly didnt like conditions to him being signed Daniel's no clue anymore outside of age.B Briscoes... Jay messed it up. William Regal even made a comment on twitter 5o indy wrestlers yo be smart on Twitter Morishima no clue... he had a tryout but I think injuries played a part. Nigel failed the physical so went to TNA. Eddie had his chance ruined by Davey Richards sounds like his current TNA run is getting him some interest again 9nce it expires. Jack Evans I think at first was his style in the ring but I also think he just loves wrestling in Japan and Mexico. Hes a different dude. Trent had way too many drug issues to be trusted. They wanted to sign him but he was a walking liability. Matt Cross got heat for the whole Tough Enough fiasco.

WrestleCircus even has trouble paying him because he didn’t have a bank account. That kind of lifestyle seems like it’s tough to gel with the demands of WWE. It reminds me of one of the Mexicools running into trouble because he had to borrow another wrestler’s cell phone since he didn’t own one himself and needed to call back the office.

Depends on your consideration of "back in the day" since he's still going and still fairly young, but Jay Lethal can talk, he can work, he looks good... He'd never be a main eventer in WWE at his size, but the man is a great talent and it's weird to think there's never really been anything happening there. Hell, even if you brought him back as Black Machismo it would work but “serious” Jay Lethal can work too He’d perfect if WWE had a TV championship. Well they sort of kinda do with the I.C title Hell, bring Lethal in like Joe was in NXT before he signed a full time contract

All of The Kingdom, really. Obviously, Taven is the most complete package, but Marseglia has a good look and weird charisma about him and O’Ryan appears to be the exact kinda guy that they’d normally sign.

ACH Human Tornado (back before you know) Chuck Taylor. Mike Angelosetti. Problem is, there's only one dude who can consistently keep King in check, and that's Quack. He'd go crazy in five seconds, but I kinda thought Quack might get a booking/training job with NXT.

Was Amazing Red ever in development at any time? He's seems like someone they would have found some use for.
