From back in the day mostly I’m talking about. I guess you could use current indie stars you don’t think will get signed too.
Also please include what do you think they would have done if signed.

Originally it would've been Mike Bennett. Figured he was exactly their type.
Guess he wasn't...

The Motor City Machine Guns. There tag team game was on another level and they could have added a lot to either Raw or Smackdown. I’m also surprised Alex Shelley never got a run as a singles star. The guy has a ton of charisma and can work his ass off.

Christopher Daniels will never not be the first guy that springs to mind when this question is asked.

Eli Drake, or maybe it's just a matter of time. He was in developmental years ago, 'til Bill DeMott got him fired.

Christopher Daniels will never not be the first guy that springs to mind when this question is asked. I kept hearing back and forth disputes on whether he was really supposed to be 'the higher power' but McMahon thought dude was too small so he took on the role himself. Even though he was signed I still have no idea why they never did anything with Colt Cabana. He had the comedic chops of Santino but was also much younger, much bigger, and maybe funnier depending on who you ask. I always assumed Abyss was bound when I first saw him on NWA-TNA in 2002. Sonny Siaki also had that ideal WWE-look. And also Matt Bently, not necessarily because he was outstanding but because he was related to HBK.

I don't believe for one second that Christopher Daniels was going to be the higher power. The audience reaction would have been "who?" Colt had to have just rubbed someone the wrong way. I can't see any other reason for him being so criminally misused.

Eddie Kingston. When he's in check, dude is phenomenal on the mic and is solid in the ring.

The guy has a ton of charisma and can work his ass off. There was that one point where Shelley’s contract was up with TNA and their were rumors that WWE wanted to sign him (the rumors involved him being attached to their potential Cruiserweight show at the time) but his deal came up during that period where TNA was suing WWE for tampering or whatever. So WWE took a stretch there where they wouldn’t sign anyone that left TNA. Matt Morgan also became available during that period and they didn’t go after him because of the lawsuit.

Christopher Daniels will never not be the first guy that springs to mind when this question is asked. I still have hope that he is signed for a short stint and then becomes a trainer in NXT.

"From back in the day"? Hmmmmm.....Reckless Youth, Chris Daniels, The Briscoes, Nigel McGuinness (as a wrestler), Takeshi Morishima, Jack Evans, Eddie Edwards, Trent Acid (RIP), and Matt Cross.

I think Reckless Youth was at least in developmental for a bit, I don't know if that counts as being signed or not.

Depends on your consideration of "back in the day" since he's still going and still fairly young, but Jay Lethal can talk, he can work, he looks good... He'd never be a main eventer in WWE at his size, but the man is a great talent and it's weird to think there's never really been anything happening there.
