There used to be a (obviously fake) "fact" on wikipedia that claimed that Family Matters was originally going to be a Die Hard spinoff about Reginald's character, and John McClane was going to make guest appearances. |

It just happens to take place at Christmas, that in of itself doesn’t make it a Christmas movie My main defence of it not being a Christmas film is that although admittedly whilst I do watch it every Christmas, I wouldn’t feel out of place watching it on a hot summer day. I couldn’t say that about a proper Christmas film. |
