So he didn't listen to Jim Kirk's advice and became an admiral. The vineyard is a nice little homage to "All Good Things," meaning some parts of that alternate future did come true. I think its more of an homage to the episode "Family".

So after watching the new Charlie's Angels trailer and seeing Patrick Stewart in it, all I can think is that this new Picard show would be so much more interesting if it was about Captain Picard protecting the Federation in the 24th Century with a trio of sexy lady spies.

I for one found it charming that Patrick Stewart and his granddaughter Kristen are finally in a movie together.

If they allow Stewart input, I think we'll know how that would end up:

This once again works with my pitch for the Picard series to be Avery Bullock in space

Gul Madred will be the villain. He still hasn't given up on making Picard say that there are five lights.

He might be inspired by Lwaxana Troi and call his dog Mr Woof.

This may just be me in this regard...
But I find it somewhat out of place despite being in the same universe and such that they're using the classic Trek font for the word Star Trek rather than the TNG font.

That's a good point, I wouldn't have ever thought about that. They also stopped using it with the TNG movies. Nowadays the TNG font is so hilariously dated. I think the TOS style they use is safely retro.

Maybe so, but I would have used the font from the logos of Deep Space Nine and Voyager to fit more into the timeline if you're not gonna use the TNG one (the ones from the TNG movies was too plain from my recollection.)

The SDCC trailer above is unavailable now, so here's from CBS All Access's page. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Data being back and looks like a prominent role is very cool. But I'm intrigued by Seven of Nine because it offers a different, but established character for Picard to interact with instead of just all new characters. Also important is Hugh the borg is back as well.
