The fact is, we have no idea what caused this rift. These guys have been involved in a multi year lawsuit, so there would be all sorts of shit going on behind scenes that we weren’t hearing about for legal reasons. As a fan of both guys, I’m gonna chill on the sidelines until we get more info because there are waaaaayyy too many variables at play here for any of us to make educated assumptions.

But considering he offered to pay for Dynamite's back surgery after he trashed Stu in his book, is still friends and works with Neidhart after being a complete f*** up for years and covered for Davey Boy multiple times, I would say Bret is the complete opposite of Punk. Bret is more of an enabler as a friend if anything, where Punk thinks everyone is using him and a complete paranoid, self righteous prick. |

Punk getting dicked over by his brother early in his career and having such a tumultuous upbringing with the rest of his blood family has really affected his outlook. I like Punk and understand some of his perspectives, but to deny that he might be a bit..."difficult" to deal with would be pure insanity.
They seemed to reconcile during the trial once it was obvious Amman had so much dirt on him. They were reported to be talking and laughing and things of that nature from what I recall. Too much we don't entirely know to really say, though if you reassure a guy much less wealthy than you that you'll cover his charges and then pull back on it and leave him to suffer the immense loss, that's kinda shitty to say the least. I don't doubt at all that Punk meant it when he said it, but Colt going back to WWE and jeopardizing the case must've been like the ultimate betrayal to him. All in all, ball is in Punk's court to make this look way better than it sounds.

The thing for me is, and I’m a big Punk fan so I’m trying hard not to be biased, I’m sure Punk meant that he would take care of the legal fees. I have no doubt in that. But in the mean time the friendship falls apart, I don’t care who you are, you’re not taking care of shit for that person any more. It could be something small or something large, no matter who’s in the wrong, the other person is getting no help.
So, I’m thinking it’s a bit crap to take a personal thing to the courts, but that’s the way I see it. The REALLY crap thing that I can’t get Behind, ok, legally you might have a leg to stand on with paying for the legal fees. I don’t agree with it, but if it’s the law, than it’s the law. No way around that. But to hit up that person for a cold Mil because you think you’re worth it without really working for it? That is some rotten shit right there and I can’t get down with that.
