This isn't about the chants like "you suck Bryan" those are another level of bad. This is about bland and generic the fans chants are now.
It's stuff like "this is awesome" and "yes" (which I think should be only used for dB matches) it's not natural cheering to me it feel overly manufactured sorta a cult like chant. It's pretty hard to explain but like compare a the crowd reactions when austin would come out seems so much more natural then chants today.
I really hate the "yes no" chants outside Daniel Bryan matches. Daniel Bryan used it as a heel because it was stupid and obnoxious but it's transcended to something much bigger now and instead of natural cheers we just get people chanting "Yes" in a trance like unison instead of natural cheers.

The yes/no chants are very effective, because they are clear and to the point. WWE have shown that they can spin other chants to fit their bullshit narrative. It's harder to do that when the crowd are chanting yes/no en masse. Aside from lewd chants at women, the only chant that really annoys me is the what chant, and that can be solved by ditching live promos and doing prerecorded promos that are shown only to the TV audience. The live fans will then realise that if they want to act like dickheads during live promos, then they won't be hearing them anymore.

I get annoyed with "both these guys" as if dueling chants aren't one of the main components to audience participation.
"What!?" Can still f*** off for forever and a day, and I say thats Austin karma for the whole Debra deal
Outside of that, wrestlers can come off their damn high horse for whenever they bore the crap out of a crowd. Cuz for all this "the fans pay, they can do what they want" crap they spout, wrestlers sure have a habit about whining about crowds on twitter.

This is what happens when you stop focusing on the action in the ring and instead decide to point the camera to the crowd every 15 seconds like Dunn has been doing the last decade.

Most of the time, chants don't effect me either way unless they're huge like the Yes Chant.

It doesn't bother me at all. I prefer it over a quiet crowd. It's just part of modern day wrestling.

"This is awesome" has become ridiculous, at the last PPV Seth and Dolph wrestled a boring as f*** match did one high spot and everyone was chanting "this is awesome".
That chant used to be for truely awesome moments, then again fans cant chant whatever they want.

'this is awesome' is just completely watered down at this stage. We need more variations in chants in wrestling. The UK crowd at the recent Albert Hall events showed us that.

What do you do that the only way people express joy that's 'natural' to you is a single sustained syllable screamed really loudly until you get tired of doing it?

The best way to get under WWE's skin would be to not buy a ticket, not subscribe to the network and not even talk about WWE.

Screaming, cheering shouting is more natural then chant "yes" over and over again. When I win at a video game I don't just start saying "yes yes yes" to myself to myself in sitting in a chair. I'd let out a quick shout or cheer. I'm nitpicking but I just wish we had some more chants out there
