99% of people who claim to hate Kenny/Cody/The Bucks are simply contrarian edgelords trying to be different. It pretty much always comes off as "Look at me! I have an opinion different than the popular one!", not even remotely genuine I'll speak to this one myself. I'm not a fan of The Bucks(as characters. As people they also seem to come across as rather smug) And I think Cody is nothing more than a solid hand(not that it's a knock to be a solid hand) but I simply cannot deny that they've done great work financially for themselves.

Personally, I can't ride with Kenny's constant video game references. It's just a bit too obnoxious for me. He named a move after a freaking DDR/IIDX song. Like, seriously.

Steamboat vs Savage may not even be a top 5 match on the WrestleMania 3 card, let alone of all time. Alright this needs a follow up. Name 5 matches on the Wrestlemania III card that you think are better. I’m genuinely curious. Let me preface this by saying that I love both guys and I think the angle with the ring bell and the throat injury was good stuff. Also, my list could make it appear that I prefer the spectacle and gaga over in ring action. That's typically not the case, and the Steamboat vs Flair series from '89 remain my favorite matches of all time. With that being said, in random order besides #1, here's the matches I enjoyed more. 1. Hulk vs Andre 2. Piper vs Adonis 3. Harley vs JYD 4. CanAm vs Orton & Muraco 5. Dream Team vs Rougeau Brothers Or maybe the six man in the last spot, it's been a while since I saw the show. My problem with the Steamboat vs Savage match is the same problem I have with so much current wrestling. The faster pace is fine, but there's 27 two counts that are supposed to be near falls and aren't. None of them feel like they could end the match, including the one that actually does. To me, it just feels like two guys burning through a bunch of moves until they ran out of time. I like it better than so much current wrestling because at least there was some selling and call back to the angle. But every time I try to watch it, my attention drifts to something else.

If it weren’t for Ric Flair, Scott Hall would be the most overrated wrestler ever. Hall managed exactly 2 matches that are memorable in any way and HBK was in both and could have done that with anyone.
Ric Flair is fine, but people act like he’s a wrestling god. He isn’t. He’s the king of “get your shit in”.

They should have never discontinued the King of the Ring PPV after 2002

I think your criticsms are more than fair. I too think the nearfalls, particularly the sequence when Steamboat is spamming every cradle known to wrestling, are a bit much. I would still rank it higher than all those matches other than Hulk/Andre (total package I think they’re equal). And I have to resist the urge to argue Wrestlemania III midcard matches (which I could all day. I love the Bulldogs/Tito vs Hart’s/Davis Six man and the Koko vs Butch Reed matches). Ultimately I think your opinion is valid though I disagree on scope. And thanks for taking my reply in good faith. Rereading it, it sounds much more aggressive than I intended

HHH’s red, purple and blue trunks were great. I wish he had stuck with alternating his colors more instead of the constant black. Actually, the general lack of color in the gear of Attitude’s main event annoyed me.

HBK/Bret at mania still holds up at a classic. I think those who call it boring either resent HBK for his past or just don't have the energy to watch an hour match that they know the result to, that's been on several highlight reels throughout the years.

Are we talking attitude era long trunks HHH or reign of terror because I enjoyed both of them when he went to multi colors

James Ellsworth is vastly underrated
Bret and Yokozuna had a helluva match at WM 9 that no one really remembers for obvious reasons

There is a place in wrestling for blading. When it's done carefully and selectively, it can make a guy look like a star in the climax to a feud. Sadly wrestling is packed with people who don't understand psychology and storytelling that are ruining it for everyone and risking transmitting bloodborn diseases in the process.

Shane Douglas always bored me for whatever reason. It's not like a deep seething loathing, just never could get into his stuff.
Goldberg wasn't exactly technically versatile in the ring, but he was a fantastic wrestling performer with natural ability. He's a marvel to watch on old Nitros.
The face painted babyface Usos were cool.
Sami Callihan is more funny than scary because he's trying so hard to be an edgelord.
Barrett wasn't ready to win the world championship during the Nexus angle. He had a great heel character but his wrestling was weak.
I really enjoyed CM Punk as that down-to-earth, cool babyface during 2006-2008.
Misawa should have retired after the 2005 NOAH Tokyo Dome show, maybe earlier than that. He was in real, visible bad shape towards the end.
Mark Henry was underrated, and that ECW run ruled.

I may have mentioned it before but I enjoyed the ending to Wrestlemania 9 and thought it was great.

I think it's in the ***3/4 range or so--it's definitely one of those matches that everyone is so quick to call "overrated" that it's now underrated. I mean, who the hell overrates it? The only time the match is talked about is people discussing how "overrated" it is, so it can't really be that, can it? That said, people were expecting a *****+ classic and it really wasn't, but it was still a hell of a match.

Those of you who like Bret-Yokozuna at WM9 (I agree it was on the way to being a really good match, at least until Yoko called for them to go home early) should check out the cage rematches--there's a handheld from MSG that's terrific and a Coliseum Video match that's almost as good. I like the MSG match more because it's more heated and Lawler gets involved.

I'll piggyback off all the WM IX talk and say it's actually one of my favorite WWF PPVs. It's just goofy ass fun.

I couldn't care less about who draws money when evaluating workers in-ring, other than noting that Bret was better at it. No one cuts us a check for that, so why should we care? We can take it into account when acknowledging why promotions do what they do, but we're not obliged to care about it further. And Shawn did draw money when he came back from his collapse in early '96, both for the Rumble PPV and subsequent house shows. If I’m not mistaken, the royal rumble wasn’t that big money drawing event, they had to drastically lower the prizes just to fill it. It was basically more of a presentation than anything. There's a video with Jim Cornette breaking down the business side of the 1997 Royal Rumble. About 47,000 paid attendance and a $480,000 gate. So obviously that's people paying on average a little over $10 for a ticket. And that's not including the 12,000 tickets they gave away for free. Even adjusting for inflation that ain't great for a crowd that big.

We had Giant Gonzalez, Steiner dropping a Samoan on his head, Hulk Hogan stinking up the joint with Brutus, Razor and Backlund wrestling for a minute. The only thing resembling a good match was Shawn against Tatanka.
