I remember playing No Mercy and having to use Benoit to make my opponent tap in under 2 minutes for the story mode. I did it right at the two minute mark and though I succeeded. When I saw I failed I was incredibly mad

My favorite game of all time is Mike Tyson's Punchout!! I've been KTFO way more than I've won.
I finally beat that bastard in 2012 though.

Goes without saying but the Mass Effect 3 ending.
Arkham City introducing the Cat Woman and Two Face storyline and then locking it and half the buildings behind a Paywall. f*** you.
Red Faction Armageddon. Guerrilla was amazing. A whole world you could destroy. And destroy in realistic ways. It was fantastic. So why did the sequel decide to restrict you to tunnels limiting the destruction that made Guerrilla so fun.
Any time EA get their filthy hands on a franchise.

Two off the top of my head that made me turn off the games: -Persona 3 final boss using charm, I didn't get the thing that blocks charm and Aigis healed it completely. -In GTA IV there was a cutscene where Niko falls out of a helicopter, and the cutscene killed him.

MLB The Show and scripted games.
I don't care what anybody says, you do get scripted games in MLB The Show. How else do you explain the cpu making insane plays with bad players? Or somehow Joey Votto legging out an infield single, while an 80 speed guy can't beat a running jumping throw? Or you square up the ball perfectly, and it's a routine grounder or fly out, while the cpu's pci misses the ball and it's a no doubt homer?
Of course it's like that for every sports game.

XCom 2 had some moments.
One mission where you need to steal an item and as soon as you get it reinforcements arrive. Fair enough. What wasn't fair was I decided to try something different and eliminate the reinforcements rather than dashing immediately to the extraction zone.
As soon as I killed the reinforcements, the exact same number arrived. Like game was saying "nope, f*** you. You're completing this mission the way we want you too"
I also had enemies somehow able to perfectly hit me straight through solid walls from across the map and my own soldiers missing from point blank range with 98% accuracy.

Happened to me tonight with the first palace in Persona 5. I took the game as being literal when it said I had 14 days to take the bad guy down. I proceeded to take the first 12 days to work, study, buy supplies and other things I thought would better prepare my character and the rest of the team. Little did I know that it take multiple days to actually beat the bad guy and that the 2 days I left my team wasn’t enough. Ended up getting an end game failure and being sent back a week story wise. Losing all my progress, money, items and experience in the process.

Metal Gear Solid 4. Sitting there spending 2 or so hours installing the game for the first time only to have 70% of the game be cutscene. Just make a damn movie, already.

autosave just before dying.
the respawn to death loop annoys the hell out of me as you cant go back to the last checkpoint as its instadeath, so you have to restart the whole mission again.
had that happen recently on a replay of call of duty modern warfare 2's single player campaign.

Also let me add FIFA
When the game decides to become a bugger - The Defenders become scarecrows - Shots become magnetised to the goalie - refs give penalties for non fouls*.
It's f***ing irritating
*OK I'll admit that one is VERY realistic

Until Dawn.
The entire premise of the game is that all of your decisions matter and will have an affect on the story.
Your decisions make absolutely no difference aside from whether a character lives or dies, and the story itself doesn’t change one bit no matter what you do. So in a game that makes a point of talking about the Butterfly Effect and branching paths, there is no Butterfly Effect and the path is as linear as the Final Fantasy 13 Hallway.

This became such a staple of the "make your choice" style of game that i'm surprised more people dont complain. Telltale gives the player almost no siguinificant choice, the story is always the same except changing which character does the action said in the story.

Metal Gear Solid V was an incomplete game. They should’ve erased the cutscene from The Kingdom of Flies. My feeling is that they wanted to make it a dlc but didn’t expected Kojima to go away.
Like it was mentioned above, MGS 4 being basically a giant cutscene was maddening.
The stupid toy missions in GTA San Andreas.

Pretty much any practice by a "Triple A" or mobile game that makes it so transparently obvious that it's a blatant cash grab.
