Did $9.7 million for Thursday, which means the movie's pretty much right on track to lose a shitload of money.

Is it bombing because it's crap or that the guy playing Flash is an arse?

Everything I'm reading says that Keaton's basically the reason to go which is enough to draw me in this weekend.

Which was WB and DC's choice. They could have given the CGI artists all the time they needed. That they kept messing with the final cut of the movie doesn't negate my point that they had the time, they just didn't use it right. To the CGI point... That’s up there with the Game of Thrones/House of Dragons “Even though every other program on every other channel looks fine, your TV is calibrated incorrectly and that’s why you can’t see anything.” excuse.

Is it bombing because it's crap or that the guy playing Flash is an arse? A pot pourri of factors: movie looks mid, Flash seems like a side character in his own movie, Ezra is an asshole, and it seems like it’s just gonna lead to nothing with James Gunn’s DC universe on the way.

I saw this one on wednesday. IMO it is easily the best of the DCU-movies (which wasn´t that hard since I did not like the previous ones that much). Is it one of the very best superheromovies of all time? Hmmm, no. Is it a perfectly fine movie? Hell yes. I had a great time at the theatre and enjoyed it from start to finish. Try to watch tios one unspoiled there some great surprises near the end of the movie.

Weird, because the theater I was was semi-packed. yeah, i'm in a small area and our theater's never busy busy (except for Frozen 2, and Wonder Woman) but there were more people there than there were for most first run showings I've been to recently

Loved the movie. Is Ezra a piece of shit? Yep. Did they crush it at playing two different Barry's? Absolutely.
Definitely some questionable cgi, especially in the speedforce, but I wasn't taken out of the movie.
It was great seeing Keaton one more time as Batman.
I really liked Calle but she didn't get to do too much. Hope she plays Kara again in Woman of Tomorrow.
The ending got a huge pop in my cinema haha
Was it the best superhero movie ever? Of course not but I really enjoyed it overall.

All I've seen of this movie is the edit someone made of Flash putting a baby back in a microwave

Just got back from the theaters. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}The theater was surprisingly crowded. Not packed, mind you, but there were more people in this then there were at the showings of Spider-Verse and Transformers I went to. That may just be due to seeing those on Saturday at 10AM and seeing this on Friday at 12:45PM.
This was basically three movies - a really really stupid beginning movie, a good but flawed middle movie, and an ending that I hated.
Everything in the movie from the opening until around the point Michael Keaton shows up was really stupid. Really really stupid. That whole baby rescuing scene bordered on self-parody. Somebody else said it looked like something from a Deadpool movie? No, that's giving it too much credit. It looked like something from a Friedberg and Seltzer movie. He put a BABY in a MICROWAVE! Who wrote that and then said to themselves "yep, that's some real entertainment!"?
The humor in general in this part of the movie was just horrible. It felt like somebody was handed a more serious and grimmer Snyder-style script and was told to add some Marvel-style humor and levity to it but had no idea how to do it or why it works because the only Marvel movie they've ever seen is Love & Thunder so they just insert random ha-ha's wherever they could.
This lasted until about the point that Michael Keaton shows up, at which time the movie became infinitely better. The rescue of Supergirl in Russia, Keaton's interactions with the other characters, most of the battle against the Kryptonians in the desert, all great stuff. Although the movie did have a tendency to show characters monologuing while innocent people around them were dying. Talking was NOT a free action here.
Then it fell apart as we get the "there can be no happy ending" ending. Look, at this point in the movie it was about way more then just Barry's Mom. I had spent the last hour-ish getting really attached to this pseudo-Justice League, specifically Supergirl and Michael Keaton's Batman, and really wanted to see them kick some ass. But now we're told "nope, can't happen, universe won't let it, Barry has to undo everything". And he's not even doing it so Keaton and Supergirl can live. They're still gone. He's doing it so Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot can live to replace them and make no more movies. It all felt very hollow.
And just a side note - nobody cares about the potential Nicholas Cage Superman movie and what could have been with it. It would've been crap, you know it, it didn't need a spotlight.
And speaking of things that didn't need a spotlight, it's nice how little Barry seemed to care that he caused a man that, earlier in the movie, he called his "best friend" to cease to exist and get replaced by the handyman from The Facts of Life.
It wasn't a bad movie over-all, but it certainly wasn't a top tier DC movie and it's nothing I'd go out of my way for.

It was fine. Keaton was the best part but I must begrudgingly admit that Ezra is a trash human but a good actor. I still think they should recast him.
It got a big ovation in my theater. Was it fan service? Yes. But I’m a fan, service away.

There's been a lot of talk about the... "cameos" in this film, but this one really looks bad: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}
Oh, and today is the anniversary of his alleged suicide. 64 years ago today.
Friendly reminder there's about half a dozen live action Superman actors still living.

I enjoyed it for the most part, but man there was barely anyone in the theatre. Went to the 7pm screening tonight and there was 25-30 people in a theatre that holds 200+.

{Spoiler}Friendly reminder there's about half a dozen live action Superman actors still living. {Spoiler}Plus Andy Muschietti confirmed that both Lynda Carter and Grant Gustin were cut.
So, rather than use actors who are both alive and were happy to film cameos that were ultimately not used, they CGI'd the likeness of a man who killed himself because playing Superman ruined his life.

Sounding like a sub-60 mil three-day weekend. Not great, Bob.
Looking back, putting critical reception to one side (as important as that is) - the distance between where the DCEU was at the box office after Aquaman in 2018 (and really you could include Shazam! in 2019) to now is just breathtaking.
