The Batman Beyond story has been around for months. I thought it was one of the potential movies scrapped when Gunn and Safran took over, along with MOS2. As in, there was no script or complete go ahead given, but they were in the very early stages of seeing if it could happen.
Unless it's just the same wishful thinking that keeps going around and it was never planned at all.

Also, another I'm sick of in multiverse movies..."well technically it's not the OG 89 Batman just one really close to him." They said the same thing with Peggy Carter in MOM and some of the Spider-Men in Across the Spider-Man. No. I want the originals. I want any consequences that happen to them to stick. What's the point if just some Batman or Spider-Man that's 99% like them, and the OG is living his life somewhere with Vicky Vale. They should have just done a direct sequel to Batman Returns. I'm hearing people saying they missed the "window of nostalgia" for that, but I call bullshit. It's one of the most iconic comic book movies of all time. There were some old ladies sitting behind me who were popping for everything Keaton's Batman did and who were in tears when he nearly died. |

Honestly any time they've ever done anything with Batman Beyond that wasn't the original cartoon it's been total dogshit anyway. Yeah, they keep trying to do stuff in the comics and it just doesn't work. One of those things that has a limited scope of medium in which it works. |

Although it's disappointed, Elemental has had largely good word of mouth.
The Flash has been savaged on several levels and I bet they're especially regretting some of those cameos now.

Flash is going to be another embarrassment for DC Elemental seems like a good film failed by generic marketing, whereas Flash is a disappointing film failed by overhyped marketing (plus its lead being a criminal, spotty cg, and questionable cameos). |

Apparently it earned only $4.5 million yesterday, that's 81% down on opening day.

At this rate, the ticket sales won't even cover what it'll cost WBD to keep it in theatres. I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if it was on MAX by August. |

That Friday haul really is genuinely disastrous. The movie was projected to at least be #1 or #2 for the weekend but that just puts a bullet in the thing having any kind of sustainability whatsoever. They'd probably genuinely be better off just going ahead and pulling it from theaters.
As for Elemental it might actually end up having some decent legs to it. It's probably not going to turn a profit but with a strong hold like this it'll probably be able to stave off a lot of the bleeding.
