It only beat the Jennifer Lawrence sex romp (which did a bit better than expected) by like $200,000. This is truly a bomb for the ages. I always wonder why movies like that do so poorly now, I grew up in an era where American Pie did very well at the box office and now any type of sex comedy makes no money. American Pie was kind of an anomaly. For the most part I don't think these kinds of movies have been viable since the 80's.

A guy spying on girls undressing getting naked with his hand down his pants isn't seen as funny, it's seen as creepy.

Not all of those movies are going to have a scene like that..just in general raunchy style comedies just aren't even made at the rate they once were.

They also marketed "No Hard Feelings" as some crazy adult comedy and it's not that, either. There are definitely funny parts but there's also a good portion of it that's just a coming of age story they play straight, too.

R-rated movies, in general, don't make the money they used to. R-rated movies used to be the attraction for the teenage audience. Now, theaters have cracked down on that after far to many parents complained about their babies sneaking into them. Which is why many studios moved to PG-13 for comedies and horror films. You lose the raunchyness and gore, but you gain the teenage audience. The adult audience is just as unlikely to go see an R-rated movie in theaters as well. Especially a sex comedy. Why would one pay to see boobs in a theater, when one can see boobs on their phone for free?

Movie fell out of the top five on Thursday which is kind of just absurd when it’s not even on its third week yet.

And R Rated comedies don’t tend to scream “must see in theatres” or “must avoid spoilers” so people tend to be content to wait for home release for those and save their money for flicks that do get more out of the theatre experience.

Movie fell out of the top five on Thursday which is kind of just absurd when it’s not even on its third week yet. It did lose a bunch of theatres, to be fair. To be fair, it lost a bunch of theatres because it's doing so poorly, mind. Even if it might've held alright this weekend, with the smaller theatre count, it's going to be another hard drop I think. Insert "gone in a Flash" or similar pun here.

The Flash has crossed yet another milestone: coming up on its fourth weekend in theaters, The Flash has finally crossed $100 million domestic.
For perspective, The Little Mermaid (also an underperformer, by all accounts) made $100 million domestically its opening weekend.

In 30 years when Flash Goes Tropic finally comes out, we'll see who's laughing then.

And with a new Insidious movie out this weekend and Mission: Impossible out next weekend, there's a very good chance it'll be out of the top ten by the fifth week.

I expected it to underperform but damn, I didn't expect this disaster.
Barry needs to mess with the timeline so that The Flash gets canned and Batgirl comes out instead. I don't think it would be possible for Batgirl to lose as much money as this is going to.

I don't think it would be possible for Batgirl to lose as much money as this is going to. It literally wouldn't be possible. Batgirl was to be released on HBO Max so the advertising would have been covered as part of the platform's general advertising budget, so even if it drove zero subscriptions and didn't make a cent for WBD, the most it could have lost was the $90 million it cost to make it. Flash, at the bare minimum, is losing at least $150 million.

At the current trend, I'm pretty sure a fifth week in theaters would actually start losing WBD money.

Bet they wish they could run back in time and prevent…hmm…I don’t even know how far back they have to run. I know the early movies made money but for me I’d run back to the pitch meeting for Man of Steel and tell Snyder that a frowning Superman flying in front of gray skies doesn’t have legs.

He would think that's fine because you don't need legs to fly.

Really wanted to see this in the Theaters, but no one else I know wants to go to this. I will probably just buy it when it comes out on DVD at least.

Quit drinking in March, so now I treat myself every week or two by going and checking out whatever is playing in the Laser Ultra theatre. It’s actually pretty relaxing going by yourself.
