In terms of implementing the feel of a video game into real life, it's the best I've ever seen.

Just finished seeing it. It didn’t blow me away but MAN is it super charming and the world feels ripe for movies in that world. Doesn’t even have to have the same cast much.

Yeah, that's sort of where I was on it. I liked it quite a bit, not really head over heels for it, but the main thing it has me excited for is seeing other stories in this world from other people.

I sort of want them to take the Pokemon Chronicles approach where it’s stories in the Pokemon world itself from people living in different places or taking that stuff and adapting it to a modern setting. Having said that {Spoiler}Someone’s idea for something involving a 30+ year old battle worn Ash would actually be really neat, even if it’s just a one off. I don’t think you can retell the story of the anime again anymore even though that felt like the obvious movie to do.

Wow, there’s like 3 (Including us) people in this theater.

Wow, there’s like 3 (Including us) people in this theater. I had the opposite reaction. My theatre wasn’t full but for, like, 1:40pm on a Friday, there was at least 30 or so people which surprised me considering.

Not exactly full but it was fairly busy.

For someone that's not really into Pokemon, but wants to see it because of Ryan Reynolds..... will I be ok as far as understanding what's going on? My daughter is kind of into Pokemon, so that's the "main" reason I'm going. LOL

I’ve never been more sad that a movie is just fine. I wanted this to be a universally loved banger.

Wow, there’s like 3 (Including us) people in this theater. Ten seats occupied in a screen seating 100 here. Only one screen available, too. Endgame is mostly full, and still has four screens.

LOL I don't think it'd be that hard to follow, it really provides any information you need, but I could see it losing a good bit of the appeal, lot of the charm of it is the worldbuilding and all the little details.

It made $5.7m from Thursday preview screenings so considering the mixed attendances in this thread alone, super curious to see how it does for the weekend overall.

{Spoiler}how the hell you gonna make Ditto a bad guy? Ditto? out of all the Pokemon to choose from you pick Ditto?! look at him, all he wants to do is play and have fun. its a friendly Pokemon. about a hundred and fifty-six thousand Pokemon to choose from and you choose Ditto. not something lame like the trash bag Pokemon or something thats a known a-hole like Spearow. Ditto. for shame! other than that the movie was fun

I’m super easy to please when it comes to movies. For example, I very much liked both Suicide Squad and Batman Vs Superman
And I liked this one. It was exactly fine. Not great, but a good fun time.

In the car after exiting the theater, so keeping this brief for now.
I REALLY liked this. A loose adaptation of the game, but still shockingly accurate.

Really enjoyed it. A fun detective movie using the Pokémon vehicle well.

Did $20.7 million for Friday. Which, post inflation, makes it the most successful Friday/opening day release for a video game movie ever.

Watched this earlier and really enjoyed it. Of course it isn't perfect, but it was nice to go to the movies and watch something that was just fun.

I liked it a lot. I was to old for Pokémon when it came out by a few years, so I really had no care one way or another. But the designs were cool, the movie wasn’t perfect but it made for a decent family film.
