Over the weekend I gave the Raimi Spider-Man trilogy a rewatch. I’ll always have a soft spot for the first and second movies. The second was excellent and I never thought I’d see alive action Doc Ock.
I still think Spider-Man 3 was nowhere near as bad as people said at the time.

Second one is still a Top 5 of all time

I think they still hold up and I liked Spidey 3 more than most, but the bad things about them haven't been dulled either, like Kirsten Dunst's acting as MJ. Woof.
It's kinda sad that IMO, the best film version of Mary Jane was Zoe Kravitz's very brief role as her in Into The Spider-Verse.

They veer to close to silver age camp for my taste, but I don't think they've gotten any worse in the interim.

I mean I prefer all 3 of them to anything that followed.

I don’t think the original has aged well, but the second is still a pretty fantastic piece of cinema. The less said about the third the better.

I think the second one is decent, not great but not bad, and 3 and 1 are about the same level of quality. And I don't mean that as a compliment to 3.
Honestly I might even dislike 1 more than I do 3. Like, 3 is awful, everyone knows that, but at least it has, like... A narrative. And some idea of what roles its villains play. The first movie's basically just a series of disconnected segments where they can't make up their minds if the Green Goblin is supposed to be scary or funny.
And yes I realize that the exact same criticism can be leveled at the Burton Batman movies and yet I love those, sue me.

I still think the second one is the best Spider-Man movie, although I did like Homecoming and Spider Verse a lot.

I greatly dislike the character, always have and always will, but these were good movies. Well, at least the first two, never saw the third. Along with Xmen, they helped open the door for future superhero movies.
And again, as much as I dislike the character, there's plenty from these movies to like. J Jonah Jameson obviously, Parker running when the bank vault is attacked and the banker saying, "Your grandson's a real hero!". And the musical montage from the second movie.
Thanks to this forum, and I think Madison specifically, I've come to appreciate Sam Raimi's take on the character and his hammy style fitting the ehatever age of comic books. What with Goblin's, "We'll meet again, Spiderman!"

Nope. But, to be honest, they never held up for me in the first place.

Yes, especially Spider-Man 2- which is maybe tied or just behind Spider-Verse as my first or second-favorite Spider-movie.
But I haven't seen a Spider-Man movie where I couldn't find something to enjoy about it. I like a lot of the emotional bits in 3, Amazing 2 has some cool sequences, and I still love Andrew Garfield's performance in Amazing 1.

They do not.Mostly because of Toby awful acting.
I think even with the Iron Man addition Homecoming blows Raimi`s in every category.

Absolutely.
I watched Spideyverse last night and great flick. On all fronts. Aesthetically superb. Perfect third-act. Great pacing start-to-finish. And more importantly gets Spider-Man. What’ sets the hero apart. The conflict. The insecurity. The insurmountable odds and the sacrifice.
And I still couldn’t call it my favorite Spidey flick. SM2 is one of the best comic book movies. Still.
The first is a bit dated but set the blueprint for a lot of what we’re enjoying today. Even more than X-Men I’d say.

Are they watchable? Certainly.
Is Homecoming better than them? Absolutely.
Honestly, Amazing Spider-Man 2 is the only Spider-Man movie I can't conceive of myself being in any mood to watch, be it giggling about 3, or thinking "this is alright' about 2. I might like 2 more if "Spider-Man No More" wasn't one of my least favorite Spider-man stories for things to revisit.

I think what bothers me the most about the first movie is the Green Goblin costume. I absolutely HATE the design. Other than that, I don't remember hating the second but I also didn't hate the Andrew Garfield movies. I'm hoping Tom Holland stays on for a good run, though, as he's been my favorite thus far.

The Green Goblin costume was hilarious in Spidey 1. That first fight scene between Spider-Man and the Goblin in Times Square looks like something out of a tokusatsu show like Power Rangers or Kamen Rider.
Willem Dafoe was a great Norman otherwise. Hell, giving his face green makeup might've been enough to make a convincing Goblin face.

My top four at this point is probably Raimi-Spidey 2 at #1, then Spider-Verse, then Homecoming, then Amazing 1. Those are the essential Spider-Man movies to me, for different reasons.
You get a good range of moods with drama and humor, with different aspects like Spider-Man’s heroism, angst, wit, and creativity all on display.
Officially it’s:
1) Raimi 2 2) Spider-Verse 3) Homecoming 4) Amazing 1 5) Raimi 1 6) Raimi 3 7) Amazing 2
