So yesterday on Twitter, I responded to a Tweet about Zack Snyder 'giving his blessing' to James Wan on Aquaman. I said that sounded pompous of him given it was Wan's movie& Zack didn't have much to do with it. Cue my mentions blowing up with dudes arguing with me and Zack was exec producer and he initiated the character onscreen and blah blah blah. It was like "dudes, they fired him off Justice League. Some execs are just money credited titles, and all I was saying is Wan didn't NEED Zack's blessing" But I'm an idiot and blah blah gettin RT'ed and the whole nine haha. Coincidentally 😉 most of those guys Twitter handles mention Snyder Cut.
Them Ol boys are passionate.

Honestly, I would love to see the Snyder Cut released.
In it's incomplete state as-is, so they're just watching storyboards.
And charge deluxe prices for it.

You'd have thought I spit in Zack's face saying he didn't need to give his blessing on a movie he didn't work on.

I recall giving my blessing to the Russo brothers to do Infinity War, though strangely enough they haven't responded back to me yet.

I really, really do not get the cult around these movies. Like... Yeah, I don't like any of them but Wonder Woman anyway, but even among movies I love like, I dunno, the Burton Batman I've never once felt tempted to start a letter-writing campaign demanding they have him direct another one.

It's more than a letter writing campaign. These delusional, childish assholes call WB's offices, lie to secretary after secretary until they get to the president's assistant and force them to write down a message. Obviously the president's not going to ever receive that trash, because any executive assistant with half a brain would toss it in the trash (or post it on reddit to mock the idiot that called), but it's still a huge waste of someone's time. Someone that has real work to do. These hardcore Snyder Cutters are bad people.

Me neither. Can you imagine the hatchet job 2010s Burton would do? /Johnny Depp IS the Dark Knight! //Helena Bonham Carter IS The Joker!

Ah yes, the "harass the one company who can actually release the thing I want and then complain when my harassment hasn't resulted in said thing being released" approach. I mean, seriously, do these people honestly think this shit works? There's plenty of productive ways to let your voice be heard to companies, and there's more than enough examples of them listening to show it can work. But nah, let's just bother executives en masse and force them to heed demands. That'll work.

A quote I have, unfortunately, committed to memory from one of these Snyder fanwank accounts: "Zack Snyder makes movies for actual grownups. They are dark, intellectual, complex, and challenging. They require the audience to think, use their common sense, are filled to the brim with subtle imagery and clever allegory, and subvert audience expectations." Can you imagine Zack Snyder being your bar for intellectual filmmaking? Or thinking any of the messianic symbolism in MOS and BVS, for example, is in any way subtle?

Move over Fight Club. The Shining, Clockwork Orange. We have someone that TRULY gets symbolism and subtle storyletelling! Also I love when people use subervert audience expectations as a mark of good movie...without realizing why it works in some movies and not others.
