Could've done a ten bell salute and video package. Simple, classy. Makes you feel good even though it's still sad.
No? Gotta use it to shoehorn Hogan back in? Yep. Vince gonna Vince. The change is here, brothers.
Also, lengths being gone to in order to excuse Hogan in this thread are incredibly embarrassing. I love FAN and it makes me sad seeing it.

I really should care, between him being a horrible person as himself and a horrible person as Hulk Hogan, but I can't. At this point, WWE is going to do what they want regardless of anything. I'm already not watching because RAW has gone downhill and because Brock Lesnar is around, and I'm not going anywhere else because I think all the other companies also suck. Adding an egomaniacal racist that I've never liked and never will to an episode under rotten pretenses isn't changing anything for me.
And I don't think he's going to get a mixed-to-negative reaction at all. If I didn't realize how horrible a sauerkraut bet was (I actually couldn't even get one bite before reacting badly) I'd put a can on him getting a huge nostalgia pop.

This makes perfect sense. Kind of like how every time an old football player passes away, OJ Simpson is invited to say a few words.

When you strip it all away: Warrior's homophobia was more offensive to me than Hogan's homophobia because I liked Hogan's character more than I did Warrior's. Hulk Hogan's racism is more offensive than Flair's racism if you ask people who liked Flair's character more than Hogan's. Austin's wife beating is less offensive than another wrestlers indiscretions for Stone Cold fans. We need to admit we're ALL on that spectrum somewhere and hypocrites to a man. If we weren't able to rationalise in our head why we are so fond of these, objectively speaking, horrible, horrible human beings we'd never be able to switch on the WWE Network again. Cognitive dissonance is essential for any wrestling fan. Apart from those who are now growing up idolising people whose biggest faux pas is breaking wind in the back seat of Ride Along. *shakes fist angrily in old man way*. The rest of us, we're terrible people who won't admit it. There are people who have not cheered for Steve Austin once since the Debra incident, or who took a long time to come around on him with apologies and efforts to get better. There are people who openly, blisteringly resent Warrior's bigotry and WWE trying to lionize him as the public face of greatness and PR. There are people who see Ric Flair's open and admitted wealth of sexual harassment as something to be loathed. Whataboutism is shit in every thread it comes up in and it has come up in threads about each of the people you have named in some kind of deflecting "Oh so you'll complain about this guy but not about these guys" situation. You seem way more interested in moralizing and casting as hypocrites people who don't like this than you do in engaging their points, because you're giving a miniscule percentage of the effort to engaging with peoples' points as the effort you're putting in to calling everyone bad people. It's actually really insidious, and I don't even want to know what issues are making it so important to you that everyone be on the same level of terrible person you see yourself at but this isn't the place for it.

For f***'s sake, we're equating Hogan to an alleged (we all know he did it) double murderer now? Don't like Hogan? Fine, turn the channel when he comes on. Can't believe some people are still holding the racist stuff against him.

Mean Gene was actively employed by WWE at the time of his death, which may be why he's getting a bigger tribute then say Brain or Bruno. Or they're being ignorant c***s, who knows. If Hogan comes out, says a quick thing and sends it to a Mean Gene tribute video, then I'm fine with this. If he's plastered all over the show, then yeah grab the pitchforks. I'm not the pitchfork type, but if the turn this into Monday Night Hogan I'm not gonna get into anyone's way.

Where are you from sir?

Damn man, I don't even have nearly as big an issue with this as alot of people but that..... that probably wasn't the most well thought out response man.

I like Hogan so I have no issues with this. People make mistakes and say stupid shit sometimes. Hogan has apologized enough for it. And it’s not always the whole “Be careful what you say cause someone might be listening!” stuff people like to paint him with. I believe he’s genuinely not a racist despite that video.
But hey, everyone’s entitled to their opinion and I’m cool with that.

I'm getting VERY tired of some of you doing this in EVERY SINGLE THREAD we have on here about this topic. You know EXACTLY who you are, too.
