You know, I keep seeing folks say that the ones disgusted are people who shame periods. Yeah, period shaming is a problem in society, I deal with it all the time because my brother is a giant asshole. But maybe this is simple... PEOPLE DONT LIKE GROSS STUFF. The blood is fake, well duh. So is all the poop that has been on WWE TV. So is all that gore in movies. And for those saying periods is “just blood”. Nope. Those are also eggs and lining from the uterus. A bit of research before you preach might be a good idea.
And I apologize if I come across as very hostile. It’s just super frustrating to be told how I’m a period shamer, especially by men when I am a woman who has been going through this for half of my life now.

Man, am I late to the party on this one. I personally have no problem with this. Yeah, it's gross, but if it's gimmicked then I'd take this before things like staple gun spots, cheese grater spots or taking insane bumps that'll nearly kill you that only twenty people will ever see. I doubt it will affect her one way or another. While there's an ick factor to it, there was nothing to it that would blacklist her. It wasn't like it was pornographic or the like and is no different from any of the times they've had defecation, urination or the like used in an angle. I don't think the WWE will care about the spot itself as much as the controversy it's causing. I could see WWE management watching footage of this and laughing it off. What they're not gonna laugh off is mainstream media calling the WWE trash because they signed a chick who sticks used tampons into peoples mouths. They might not consider her talents worth that kind of press. I mean, one of Session Moth Martina's regular spots is pulling "used" condoms out of her bottoms and putting them on her hands to do a mandible claw, and as far as I know, she doesn't get a lot of flak for it. It's gross, yeah, but it's wrestling. It's fake. Brain Damage once took a skill saw with a rubber blade to Dean Ambrose's head. I bet this was just as gimmicked as that was. The thing about Priscilla Kelly was that she was in the Mae Young Classic, which means she was probably on the WWE's radar on some level, thus on the radar of media outlets who like to trash the WWE when they can. Martina not so much. Martina can do silly things like that and not be noticed outside of the hardcore fanbase. "Former, potentially returning, WWE performer does something really really gross" is a slightly different headline. I dunno, with all the stupid shit's Seth Rollins has done and gotten away with, it might not be worth worrying about. If anything, they ought to be relieved if a teabag is what they're getting press for.

"Former, potentially returning, WWE performer does something really really gross" is a slightly different headline. I get that it could affect her chances of getting signed by WWE, but honestly? I've gotten to the point where I've accepted that Western media will never take pro wrestling seriously again. We've had this discussion elsewhere on the board before: wrestling is held to a different standard than seemingly any other media, where any questionable action is held against the entire industry, no matter how much good storytelling or content is produced. So I say forget mainstream media. If Joey Ryan can get a YouPorn sponsorship by pretending to flip people with his phallus, then I see no reason why Priscilla Kelly can't profit off of this in the future.

Alls I meant is that there is a section of the population that have no problems performing certain acts during that time of the month, so eventually, she'll wrestle someone that isn't affected by it whatsoever.

I find that I’m not all that grossed out by this. I mean, once you’ve spent your morning cleaning up your mother’s used sanitary pads that were shredded all over the bathroom because your dogs knocked over the bin and thought they were a tasty treat... it’s easier to handwave a worked tampon, I guess.

It's the same as any other blood in wrestling. You grossed out by that too? It’s not the same. When else has someone shoved their blood in someone’s mouth? Is that really the bridge too far here?

Abdullah the Butcher literally made a career out of that crap. Yea, he’s disgusting too. He wouldn’t be able to get away with most of his act today. He bled all over the place, but I never saw him putting his blood in peoples mouth and literally using his blood as a weapon. But, I wouldn’t put it passed him. Aren’t we always trying to get better? Shoving period blood in someone’s mouth is disgusting, what other medium of entertainment do they go there? This isn’t a “but the dick spot is okay thing”, but that is gross and makes wrestling look bad. Oh it does not. Wrestling looks like wrestling. It's simulated combat. Sometimes it involves a series of holds. Sometimes it involves pulled punches. Sometimes it involved weapons. Sometimes it involves shoving OBVIOUSLY GIMMICKED period blood in someone's mouth. The crowd gave it a favorable reaction and absolutely nobody got hurt. Considering what we know now about bloodborne diseases, this could be the absolute safest blood-related spot ever performed in the genre of wrestling.

It's not the same but I always wondered did Impact bookers realize who disgusting it looked and what it implied to have Su Yung pull a bloody sock out of her trunks. First time my mother say it she said the same thing. Apparently it took a while and others must have complained because now she pulls it out of her top.

Sometimes I wonder if Cornette was right.
Maybe there are more marks in the ring than there are in the crowd.
Some wrestlers take the business way too seriously.

She’s put out a shirt that says “I bleed for Priscilla Kelly” complete with a bloody tampon hanging from the letter y in her name. I wasn’t bothered by the spot. In context it was done in a bar for an adult crowd. I don’t feel it would belong on family friendly television. I would never wear a Vince ❤️ 🐓 shirt or a DX shirt that said suck it on it. I’m sure not going to wear a bloody tampon shirt. No thanks.
Some of the reactions to the shirt and the spot in general are just awkward. Some guys saying that she could do the spot to them and other comments that are best left to the imagination. I’m not trying to kink shame here. It just seems like this type of thing much like the nude leaks over the years tends to bring out the creeps.

Think of the best angles you've ever seen on WWE TV. How many of them involve semen, piss, shit or menstrual blood as a focal point? There's a reason the best TV shows written don't involve this stuff. Just because it exists doesn't mean I enjoy it on WWE or any wrestling show.

If that is your thing and you enjoyed watching that, I don’t have any problem with it. I personally don’t see how any grown adult could find enjoyment from that at a wrestling show, but maybe I am wrong. I definitely don’t agree with people like Colt Cabana calling it art, not everything is art. But, my opinion is it is nasty and too far, and I don’t think it was needed. Not going to be changing my opinion on that.

I personally think that some "promoters" are deliberately pushing stunts like this in an effort to make an utter mockery of pro wrestling itself. This was a show that did not even have a ring set up for the competitors to perform in. Yet, they were able to shell out enough money (presumably) for Priscilla Kelly not only to appear, but to perform this spot at least with the suspicion that her professional future would likely suffer greatly as a result.
Herein lies the bigger issue - on the one hand, we tout a pro wrestler's workrate and their hustle for working enough bookings to earn a decent living, but then we get instances like these and wonder about the quality of these bookings and whether wrestlers know or care so long as they're getting a check that clears. Is there any dignity to be found in this level of work? And should pro wrestlers be more choosy in the bookings they accept, for both the good of their own careers and for the business in general?
I'm not sure that what happened here can be placed in the same category as Joey Ryan, who at least has done his "spot" inside a ring every time I've seen it. This had all the appearances of a particularly tawdry, low-class, violent-bordering-on-farcical bar fight, capped by a tactic so far beyond the pale yet ultimately ineffective that I'm certain more lethal weapons would have been drawn and deployed first if the fight had been real. At minimum, those who took the booking and performed that spot failed to protect the business by a) not walking away from the show the moment it was clear the promoter was not adequately prepared for the show, and b) not refusing to do that spot. At worst, they have contributed actively to its perceived decline by participating and by devising that spot, and should never be booked above this level again; they also deserve to be shunned by their sister-wrestlers for potentially increasing the creepdom they face, the dangers inherent to that segment of the fanbase, and for the self-imposed restrictions women in general and women wrestlers and other athletes/celebrities in particular have to adopt to protect themselves.
TL:DR - Cornette is right about this one, but may be naive about the source of all this tomfoolery.
Edited to remove shaming comment about women's conduct and reputation.

For me, it's kind of gross, but if Joey Ryan can do his dick bit, why can't a woman do this? I doubt you will ever see something like this on WWE or Impact (maybe, LOL) but on the indies, I'm sure stuff like this is going to happen. What I think is really idiotic is people comparing this to Mr. Socko. Mr. Socko was a "dirty guy" in Mankind grabbing a sweat sock from his pants. Kelly took a bloody tampon from her "special purpose". I don't see how one is like the other. Compare it to Joey Ryan's bit, but keep Socko out of this! LOL
Despite my finding it gross, I think she should be able to do anything the promoter/organization allows her to do. It was shocking and got her some press, so good on her.

Sometimes I wonder if Cornette was right. Maybe there are more marks in the ring than there are in the crowd. Some wrestlers take the business way too seriously. Cornette went on a Twitter tirade advocating murdering Kelly via Nazi concentration camp methods and selling the soap made from her fat. This statement was not for her doing the gimmicked spot, but for telling people to calm down because it was fake. So who exactly is taking the business way too seriously that they'd make Cornette right?

two women nobody would have spoken to, much less taken home with them if those people valued their reputations or dignity. Any other points you may have had that were even close to being valid were negated by this statement.
