Sometimes I wonder if Cornette was right. Maybe there are more marks in the ring than there are in the crowd. Some wrestlers take the business way too seriously. Cornette went on a Twitter tirade advocating murdering Kelly via Nazi concentration camp methods and selling the soap made from her fat. This statement was not for her doing the gimmicked spot, but for telling people to calm down because it was fake. So who exactly is taking the business way too seriously that they'd make Cornette right? I'm sorry, I must have had something crazy in my eye... He said what? (Pertaining to the spot itself...*shrug?* I'm pretty sure it was agreed to beforehand so...whatevs)

two women nobody would have spoken to, much less taken home with them if those people valued their reputations or dignity. Any other points you may have had that were even close to being valid were negated by this statement. Sorry about that. I'll edit it.

PEOPLE DONT LIKE GROSS STUFF. Garbage Pail Kids. MTV's Jackass. Human Centipede. All gross things with lengthy shelf lives that were popular. YOU don't like gross stuff. "People" like different things.

These maggots on the carcass of the business disgust me."

I can see him being upset about her saying wrestling is "fake", but how about making an educated and sane statement refuting it instead of wishing her death. This is like the meatball Bears fans wishing Cody Parkey death after last night. I should expect better from Cornette, but sadly.... none of us do.

Oh it does not. Wrestling looks like wrestling. It's simulated combat. Sometimes it involves a series of holds. Sometimes it involves pulled punches. Sometimes it involved weapons. Sometimes it involves shoving OBVIOUSLY GIMMICKED period blood in someone's mouth. The crowd gave it a favorable reaction and absolutely nobody got hurt. Considering what we know now about bloodborne diseases, this could be the absolute safest blood-related spot ever performed in the genre of wrestling. It’s gross dude. If that is your thing and you enjoyed watching that, I don’t have any problem with it. I personally don’t see how any grown adult could find enjoyment from that at a wrestling show, but maybe I am wrong. I definitely don’t agree with people like Colt Cabana calling it art, not everything is art. But, my opinion is it is nasty and too far, and I don’t think it was needed. Not going to be changing my opinion on that. It may not be "Art" that you like, but how is it not "art?" That logic only applies if you're of the mindset that no wrestling is art and that wrestling is better suited to be classified as a "Craft" - which is an argument to be made as it's not so much subjective as, regardless the genre of wrestling, aiming to get a certain crowd reaction. Even with that being the case, it's still a successful well-applied use of the craft.

I personally think that some "promoters" are deliberately pushing stunts like this in an effort to make an utter mockery of pro wrestling itself. Are we really going down the conspiracy theory hole here? "mockery of prowrestling itself," come on now. What's the end game?

For me, it's kind of gross, but if Joey Ryan can do his dick bit, why can't a woman do this? I doubt you will ever see something like this on WWE or Impact (maybe, LOL) but on the indies, I'm sure stuff like this is going to happen. What I think is really idiotic is people comparing this to Mr. Socko. Mr. Socko was a "dirty guy" in Mankind grabbing a sweat sock from his pants. Kelly took a bloody tampon from her "special purpose". I don't see how one is like the other. Compare it to Joey Ryan's bit, but keep Socko out of this! LOL Despite my finding it gross, I think she should be able to do anything the promoter/organization allows her to do. It was shocking and got her some press, so good on her. The comparison lies in that it was implied Mankind was always keeping the socks in his genitals region, with the reaction being "that thing that was about the part of his anatomy with all the various liquids is now in his opponent's mouth." It's not like Mr. Socko was portrayed to be kept in his pocket.

Cornette's made a second career out of shoot interviews and kayfabe destroying segments on his podcasts. He has no right to criticize others for revealing the business when he has talked in length about going back and forth with Bret and Shawn as among the many who tried to negotiate Bret dropping the belt.

Can we all just take a break from the bickering for a moment to agree in unison that Cornette is a c***?
"I didn't like this fake spot in a wrestling match so your punishment is death!"

I'm trying to decide if I more need to respond to Cornette advocating for murdering people with 3,000 people willing to go, "Yeah, sure, I like this!" or the theory that a bunch of wrestling promoters are secretly trying to kill the industry through low-budget indie shows.

Even with that being the case, it's still a successful well-applied use of the craft. Pro wrestling is a craft that can ascend to art when done at its highest level. The very definition of art is producing works that can be appreciated for their beauty or emotional power. There was no beauty or emotional power in that spot, just low brow shock value. The whole thing was a joke, they didn’t even have a ring setup. I am not sure why you are cape’ing so hard for this, I already said if that is your thing, that’s your thing. But, it ain’t mine, and I ain’t giving her no props for it. I see no redeeming value in it.

To me, it looked like he was literally pulling it from his pants as if the sock was sticking out the entire time. Either that, or I didn't think of "that" when i was watching Mankind. LOL

Yeah, that's one of the things that I'm not sure that I have the bigger issue with: someone saying something incredibly tasteless or the fact that other people like that they said something incredibly tasteless.

And really, I think wrestling is in a better place now where stuff like this happens with the consent of both parties and they likely laugh about it later than the days of people in Cornettes time beating up people for real because they were in a more senior position. Wrestling is whackier and more envelope pushing now, but it seems a hell of a lot more civil.
Although there's still crap like the cinderblock thing recently. Which, why the f*** was there less outrage over THAT?
