I think that in that segment, Braun just talked himself out of being Champion for the foreseeable future.

1. WWE seems to book to people's weaknesses as some sort of challenge for the talent to overcome, which is just insane.
2. WWE seemed to switch to a more improvised promo style. This is a great idea, if you prepare for it! Thus far they have apparently not recruited people with their old school improvisational promo skills in mind, and it seems like they haven't been giving much training either.
They just switched cold to improvised promo and left Braun absolutely STRANDED out there.
Book to his strengths?
TWO SENTENCES MAX. Then have him go backstage to find Brock himself!
Heyman and Brock just standing there looking smug didn't help matters. Heyman should have rescued the poor bastard.

This is 100% what that segment should've been

I guess the Crown Jewel match tried to protect Strowman but he still basically got zero offense in and got destroyed. It's more that he was a victim of booking that almost no one on this planet wanted to see, namely another unwanted Lesnar title run and a major Corbin GM push. Right or wrong, Strowman in storyline could have stopped those disasters from occurring and he didn't.
I'm still predicting Bray Wyatt to cost him the match at the Rumble.

Is this real? Good lord, does Vince write the games too? Needless to say the promo engine had a good premise but horrible execution.

Also, are WWE really going back to a more bullet point style system or is it just pure speculation? That would explain Braun’s fumbling of his lines as he looked extremely nervous.

I could believe that. Bryan's recent promos haven't felt very "WWE" compared to past stuff, and the past few times Balor's had a mic have sounded way better as well.

That seems to be what's going on at this point, and I don't know why or to what end but it's insane. Are they trying to force people to overcome their weaknesses by going out there, crashing, and then getting punished for it? Is Vince just so overblown in his self-worth that he's decided he can overcome weaknesses and book them to look like gods? Is he so senile and insane that he thinks burning his roster is just a good thing? There's no sense to this situation at all and it's part of what's killed the show so hard in the years since the Attitude Era ended and they just stopped trying to book people well.

It is like if Paul Heyman decided to book 911 as a technical wizard instead of just a big goon with an awesome chokeslam. Heyman was SO good at booking to people's strengths.

Braun needs to be a "destroyer".... i thought this made him look small time when compared to Brock. I get Brock is the big "star" attraction, but don't you want people to think Braun is legit as well? Just my opinion.

I want Seth to be the guy now. Like, please. That was either planned poorly, written poorly, or delivered very poorly by poor Strowman. He just isn’t ready yet. Not as ready nor as over as Seth is. Give him a run with the WWE title or make him a heel as he works better in that role, just don’t let him beat Brock only for Drew to come along and get the super push. Well. . . . . . . I think your just jealous, flappin yer gums . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Lets go! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .or are you afraid?!

Besides Braun, Dean, Lio and even Seth's to a degree these past few weeks have felt more them from a delivery standpoint.

I know i got the impression last night with him at least...thinking did they clearly didn't give him a script to follow. Vince and company did say a few weeks back they were going to give the talent more freedom or something like that. But if they did tell him to just go wing it, tonight showed just how much they have failed to develop talent's promo skills without following a script. That was one of the most awkward and embarrassing segments i've ever seen for a top talent. I was literally cringing as it was going on and begging him to say something instead of just standing there and then when he did speak it was just embarrassing. I honestly couldn't believe how bad it went.

That “bitch, what line” felt like Sasha than what the writers think Sasha’s character is tbh. Hopefully that’s one of the changes for some.

That was definitely more on Sasha so I wonder what's up.

It was rough and disjointed, but not as bad as I anticipated from reading all the comments. It could've been more palatable with any sort of physical confrontation, but I guess Braun's not cleared.
Brock should f***ing speak sometimes - his words still carry a lot of weight. His run has been dire for a long time, and for many reasons, but Heyman doing literally all of the promo work for every one of his feuds is a major one that doesn't get mentioned as much as it should.

This is 100% what that segment should've been Off topic but man, Joe should have really won this feud.
