I didn’t realise some folks were hotter on one of these guys than the other.
That’s really helpful, though, ‘cause now I can write a mnemonic to differentiate them.
Dawson, Dawson - FAN thinks he’s awesome; Dash, Dash - Meh! Beard and ‘tache.

Yeah...this is the first thread that I've seen where people were deciding between the two.
To me they're like the Usos.

Dawson kind of got a little bit of a head start over Wilder in terms of establishing himself, because he’d already been there a couple of years himself before Wilder got signed and they paired them up. Like, there was Dawson and Rusev as a team managed by Sylvester Lefort before Rusev got lured away by Lana, as well as what I guess was an alpha version of The Revival with Garrett Dylan (who is actually Kris Kristofferson’s son in real life, I believe). Wilder’s entire run in the company has been as part of The Revival. (Plus Dawson had those funny promo demo tapes where Alexa Bliss was his trashy Southern gold digger girlfriend)

I think he's retired now, but that dude was FUN from what I've seen of his spurt on the indies post-release.

Yeah I didn't realize people were hotter for one over the other. Scott's Mom prefers Dash, but Scotty doesn't know.

Probably should start mowing his lawn.

I could be vastly mistaken (and it wouldn't be the first time) but I still don't see either of them lighting the world on fire as singles guys.
And again I love the team.

No of course not, at least not yet. They're tag team specialists and should absolutely remain as such for the foreseeable future.

If I were in charge of creative, I think I’d pull a Ted DiBiase Jr. debut here. Gable and Roode versus the Revival, Roode turns on Gable to help the Revival win the tag belts, and they become a trio. I’ve said for a while that Bobby Roode is the right guy to pair up with the Revival, and this is the perfect opportunity. Say he was sick of Gable trying to be him, because he could never be as GLORIOUS as Bobby. He’s got the old school aesthetic that fits with Dash and Dawson, and with him as their third, you could keep him out of the ring as much since he’s more over as an entrance and gimmick than as a wrestler. Now you’ve got the belts on The Revival and you’ve got a sensible new stable. They could take out Gable until it becomes solid whether Jason Jordan will ever be back or not. If he gets cleared, we get Revival versus American Alpha again. If Jordan never gets cleared, Gable works as an underdog badass who has to scratch and claw for everything he gets.

Yeah, I think Curtis Axel or Roode would both be good fits with The Revival if they ever became a trio. Roode more than Axel, probably. As for Gable, I think a guy like Apollo Crews would be a good partner for him in your scenario. Their in ring styles would complement each other's very well IMO and no one gives a shit about Crews on his own. Gable can do the mic work.

I could see him and Gable being a good team with their similar energy.

Oddly for awhile now (and I've been doing this in the games as a result) I've been thinking you could make a decent team out of Tye and No Way Jose.

People are actually talking about who the better member is... lmao.
As if Dawson or Wilder have some massive potential as singles stars. Come off it.
I love the team. I think they’re probably the best team in the company. But they would be sauceless as singles wrestlers. That’s obvious.
Enzo & Cass, Cryme Tyme, The Hart Dynasty, The Colons, The Usos... some guys are just meant to be together and STAY together. You can’t go splitting every team up in hopes that you find “the next Shawn Michaels” in there. What’s wrong with being part of a tag team act? It never did Animal or Hawk any harm.

I don't think anyone's saying they would be better as singles guys? I certainly don't think Dawson should be anything but a tag guy, but I still think Wilder needs him more than he needs Wilder. I just have a harder time seeing a team of, I dunno, Wilder and Axel working than I do a team of Dawson and Axel.

Couple of things of note that could be relevant to the discussion, one way better sourced than the other...
1. According to Meltzer on Observer Radio, The Revival are signed to WWE until April 2020 (presumably a three year deal signed upon their main roster callup), so if WWE really want to be c***s about this situation, they could be benched or jobbed out for another full year yet
2. This is the one I’m trying to find confirmation on... There’s some rumours that Akam of AoP has been ruled out of action with a leg injury for a couple of months, and given how WWE book their tag teams when one guy is out, that likely means Rezar ain’t seeing much TV time soon. The source I’ve found cites F4WOnline, but I haven’t found anything there yet. How does this tie back to The Revival? Well, RAW’s down another heel team now, having already broken up the other main heel team of 2018 in Ziggler/McIntyre. WWE may actually need The Revival now more than they might actually want them, or more than The Revival want to be there. That, or The Ascension finally get a title run, flip a coin.
EDIT: That’s also on Observer Radio, apparently.
