Look, I’m all for calling a joke entry a joke entry. Jeff Jarrett was a joke entry. Kurt Angle became one because you read this and remembered Kurt Angle entered the 2019 Royal Rumble match. Nia Jax was not that. I am not a massive fan of her work and think she’s a tad unsafe at times but the way they used her was nothing short of great. Nia came in, nobody knew what to think because they expected R-Truth (and you be the person to tell her no), Mustafa Ali didn’t want to hit her, being a good guy and paid for it (yes, he kind of shouldn’t have been a sacrificial lamb in the long term but the short story they told was great) and when that happened, everyone realised they needed to get rid of her because she was a genuine threat to everyone else. She could win. So they found a way to triple team her and they thought that was it...except she was crawling up like a bruised beast so they all dumped her out. Like, that did more for her credibility than anything since she was called up from NXT. Also, and this needs to be said again, the downright eruption from when Orton and Nia stared each other down was f***ing surreal as hell. Yes, they cheered her being beaten down but she was wrecking shit so was getting got, as Magic would say. Hmmm... In a way Nia being able to compete with all the top talent there proved that women can compete with the men way more than anything they've done in this company since this whole Women's Revolution thing started. Sure, we got segments of Becky suplexing Ellsworth, we've seen Beth Phoenix go at men but Nia's seen as someone who's big and tough and yet there's a good amount of women who can beat her in that division. Her doing this is important because it shows the fans that hey, if Nia can do that then Becky, Charlotte, Sasha, Bayley, Asuka and the list goes on can do it as well. That's an excellent point. Back in the Attitude Era, Chyna was shown as being on a completely different level from the other women. She mopped the floor with Ivory and Trish, with Lita being only slightly more competitive. So you bought Chyna being able to seriously wrestle men (the cruiserweight and hardcore divisions never really being seen as serious, hence more forays by the Attitude Era women in those matches), but no one else. Nia is the obvious choice to be the first to step up to the men based on her size and character, but when you start pulling the thread of "Hey, Nia's like the 4th or 5th strongest booked woman in the company...", you can start seeing the never-say-die/take no shit Becky, the physically imposing Charlotte Flair, the hard-hitting and slightly crazed Asuka, etc, being just as able to have stepped into that spot and made it work.

I actually liked it, and it was the most interesting Nia's been in ages. I'll also echo the feelings of not liking Ali being eliminated the way he was. Why Joe didn't get back in the ring and whip his ass is beyond me. Just weird that they'd use that spot on a mega-heel, who was getting huge babyface reactions during the moment. Can you imagine if they replaced Nia with Becky and had Becky win THAT one instead?! I would 100% be down with Lynch vs. Bryan. Would be great to see, with one being the best wrestler in this or any other lifetime, and also seeing if Daniel Bryan could raise his game to that level.

I haven’t read the whole thread, so forgive me if someone else mentioned this, but if Nia can just kick the shit out of R-Truth and take his spot in the men’s Rumble, what’s to stop a man from doing the same in the women’s Rumble? Granted, I don’t see that happening, but it could.

Same way Taka and Funaki kept trying get into the Rumble and kept getting thrown out but they were never officially entered

I’m glad they actually got to hit her.
It’s fake anyway, so who cares? She was willing to do it and she did it great.
Probably the highlight of the night for me.
Ali doesn’t really look that bad. He didn’t want to hit a woman. He paid for it.

Okay. About the whole rules thing.
It's R-Truth. He's a walking nonsensical joke.
I think very little of Nia, her abilities and everything about her. But her being in the match was more interesting than him.
I don't care about WWE as a simulated sport. I just want fun stories.

Orton's reaction was hilarious. I would 100% be down for Orton vs Jax at Mania based on the interaction they had last night.

He's a goddamn psycho. Did she not see what he did to Jeff's ear? The men have no choice, they have to compete with Randy. Nia chose to mix it up with that crazy f***er.

Dude was making me laugh a lot. You could read his entire thought process of "Oh MAN, I haven't RKO'd a girl in YEARS, this is gonna be so greatOHSHITSHETURNEDAROUNDANDSAWME" When Orton's on and motivated, he's really tremendous. He also has the veteran savvy to lead Nia through a huge Mania bout. The more I think about it, the more I want to see it.

I think it's gonna be used to keep her warm while the other girls are busy with their Mania program and the circle back to "The Man" at the end of it. We'll get some shenanigans leading to it that in the end won't mean anything the second it's over with.

Yea the writing is on the Wall on how Nia is going to scream she should be called “The Man” and have Becky put up her Rumble opportunity only for Becky to tap her out and move on to Ronda

Yeah the Becky/Nia feud is going to continue down the line for sure. I'm guessing we're going to see Nia f*** up some Cruiserweights next.
