Look, I’m all for calling a joke entry a joke entry. Jeff Jarrett was a joke entry. Kurt Angle became one because you read this and remembered Kurt Angle entered the 2019 Royal Rumble match. Nia Jax was not that. I am not a massive fan of her work and think she’s a tad unsafe at times but the way they used her was nothing short of great. Nia came in, nobody knew what to think because they expected R-Truth (and you be the person to tell her no), Mustafa Ali didn’t want to hit her, being a good guy and paid for it (yes, he kind of shouldn’t have been a sacrificial lamb in the long term but the short story they told was great) and when that happened, everyone realised they needed to get rid of her because she was a genuine threat to everyone else. She could win. So they found a way to triple team her and they thought that was it...except she was crawling up like a bruised beast so they all dumped her out. Like, that did more for her credibility than anything since she was called up from NXT. Also, and this needs to be said again, the downright eruption from when Orton and Nia stared each other down was f***ing surreal as hell. Yes, they cheered her being beaten down but she was wrecking shit so was getting got, as Magic would say. Yea, if she wasn’t so clumsy you know they would entertain the idea of her getting an IC or US title feud with whoever is champ Y’all can hate on her as much as you want but she performed her role perfectly last night

They need to be done with this if they are doing separate rumbles. Serena Williams can't just stroll over to the men's semis or finals if she loses a match. I mean she could, but would probably lose worse than she did in '98.

I don't understand her eliminating Ali rather than Ziggler. Ziggler needs to look strong in Rumble matches to add to the huge shock factor when he makes his yearly return after his long pre-Rumble layoffs.

I thought it was great, one of the few entertaining moments in a fairly paint by numbers rumble.
To anyone over thinking it and the social media outrage mob just remember pro wrestling is fake!

Yeah, so was Bertha Faye but you don't see her in any Rumbles. Wasted spot, for a waste of a performer. Could have used that spot for any number of entrants. You should leave personal feelings at the door when judging a performer and look at the situation
If she gets in next year you have a point but to see she got in because The Rock is laughable
That’s pretty much the consensus on r/SC. They only think she got it because of The Rock. Lmao

I understand and respect the opinion of people who enjoyed this, but I absolutely despised it. Having had a night to ruminate on it, I think it may be my least favorite spot in the last 10 years.
I thought the intention behind it was cool...a strong female character standing up to the men and looking badass doing it. I just hated the execution. Nia beats down R-Truth and gets rewarded by just being inserted into the match without any real explanation. Nia herself eliminates a guy in Ali who is not fully established and, in my opinion, completely destroyed the excellent showing that he had up to the point. Then, all of the already established guys beat the shit out of her, hit their finishers, and unceremoniously eliminate her. And, on top of that, I don’t care much for Nia as a character or as a wrestler, and I had sort of hyped myself up for a huge surprise replacing Truth at 30, so that sort of deflated me. It was a good Rumble all around and the live crowd clearly dug it, so I know my opinion will be the minority but I hated it.

For a minute, I actually thought this was how they were punishing Nia for her recent sloppiness. She got her ass handed to her by Ronda, got her ass handed to her by Becky, got her comeuppance at the rumble with Becky, then took multiple finishers. Just because one person related to Dwayne got a push, doesn’t automatically mean everyone of Rock’s family gets an unbeatable, super human push.

In a way Nia being able to compete with all the top talent there proved that women can compete with the men way more than anything they've done in this company since this whole Women's Revolution thing started. Sure, we got segments of Becky suplexing Ellsworth, we've seen Beth Phoenix go at men but Nia's seen as someone who's big and tough and yet there's a good amount of women who can beat her in that division. Her doing this is important because it shows the fans that hey, if Nia can do that then Becky, Charlotte, Sasha, Bayley, Asuka and the list goes on can do it as well.

I watch the video on YouTube and it wasnt that bad. No different then Ronda beating the shit out of Triple H at Wrestlemania.
Also the Beth Phoenix spot wasnt that bad. You have to remember she did that to eliminate a person who was legitimately taller then 90% of the Male roster.

It's been a long time since that excuse was brought up for the Usos once people started to respect their talent
And yeah as I been saying she played the Big Show role in this match but instead of the majority moan and groan, this actually intrigued people

I don't feel like the Ali elimination really hurt him that much, though part of that is because Nia is on the opposite show, so she won't be there to continually throw it in his face.
It'll be forgotten fairly quickly.

It'll be forgotten fairly quickly. Yeah, even though I think it was a bit silly considering, it won’t affect him that much since it seems the feud with Nakamura will kick off Tuesday. Heck, if anything as I said before, it added to the story. If Ali wasn’t hesistant in trying to get her out, Jax wouldn’t have eliminated him and everyone wouldn’t have gone “Oh F***, she’s serious!”

The Ali stuff was good. Got him over as a Good Guy kinda face and got Nia over as a heel for taking advantage of his hesitation.

By eliminating Ali, everyone knew she wasn't playing around

You know, I joked around for a while that they would eventually have her win since she was related to The Rock. When she came out last night, I felt like a damn prophet.

I haven't gone through all of the replies so not sure if this point has been made, but here goes:
It's obviously reprehensible for a man to attack a woman. However, in the context of the match, Nia was trying to use that fact against all of the men in an effort to coast to victory. It wasn't like she got in and was like "please don't hurt me!" She was acting cocky about it and very obviously weaponizing the fact that she was a woman.
Yes, if this was real life, it's shitty. But in the context of an entertainment program, she got her just desserts.
