I should have realized that giving characters superpowers was the next logical step in this franchise. Why not.

In the first one, Dom's crew was stealing DVD players and TV/VCR combos. Now the franchise has a cyborg supervillain.
Awesome.

f*** me, this looks dumber than just about anything I've seen this decade.
Should be fun, though.
And of course Reigns gets to OOOWAH and spear somebody. Gotta make him look strong.

This looks like the most ridiculous action movie of all time and I am here. For. Every. Second. Of. It.

This is the right kind of dumb awesome I like. Plus, the Big Dog being in it doesn’t hurt, either.

Somewhere around the 4th movie they embraced the ridiculousness, seemingly upping the ante with every film. I absolutely love it. Pump that nonsense into my veins

I agree with every comment here. There is nothing wrong with a dumb action movie that knows exactly what it is and embraces it. The only problem would be if it took itself too seriously.

Gonna requote myself on this one. This looks loud, brash, and undeniably the stupidest thing ever. I’ll be there opening night.

This looks like the most ridiculous action movie of all time and I am here. For. Every. Second. Of. It. Damn right. Rock and Statham's chemistry alone would make this movie watchable, but the fact they continue to embrace being ridiculous just makes it better. And this is going to be Roman's launching point to Hollywood. Watch him get bit parts as a henchman, or teammate in some action movies, and then get the breakout role. Dude's gonna be a part timer.

Saw the trailer and
1. I am not sitting through half this damn movie just to get to everything with Roman, mostly because I really don't like this franchise 2. Idris Elba deserves so much better 3. Idris Elba being awesome just highlights how terrible Jason Statham is 4. The Rock is somehow less entertaining in Hollywood than he is in any WWE return appearances since 2004

I’ll have to pass. Never been a fan of the franchise lasting this long, never mind a spin-off.

Just asking, but if you don't like the franchise getting this far, at which point should it have ended, in your opinion? Personally, I will watch 9 and 10 when they come out. It has been said that the tenth film will be the final film, at least of the main series.

Just asking, but if you don't like the franchise getting this far, at which point should it have ended, in your opinion? I can't speak for Duke Cameron, but from a narrative perspective, Fast Five was where it should've ended for me. The sixth movie left a bad taste in the mouth, killing off Giselle for no other reason than the fact that she wasn't around when they killed Han in Tokyo Drift, and looks twice as dumb now that Gal Gadot's stock has gone through the roof. The seventh was overshadowed by Paul Walker's death. The eighth combined the killing of Elena for being the mother of Dom's child but not being Dom's love interest with the baffling acceptance of Shaw as an unofficial member of the family despite him murdering Han in cold blood and trying to murder everybody else (not to mention the literal mass murder he committed at the hospital in the previous movie). These movies are really good at what they do - big, dumb, fun action sequences - but everything has felt very redundant since the fifth one.

For me, the appeal of these movies isn't so much the plot, but rather how outlandish they'll take the action sequences with each film.
