PWInsider reports that Ciampa is suffering from a neck injury. The injury forced a re-write of this week's RAW episode from Atlanta, according to the report. Original plans had Ciampa and Johnny Gargano teaming up for a Fatal 4 Way tag team match against Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins, Aleister Black and Ricochet, and another team that was not revealed. RAW Tag Team Champions The Revival were scheduled to be at ringside for the match. Plans were changed once it was confirmed that Ciampa was not cleared to wrestle. Ciampa has reportedly been dealing with the neck injury for at least 4-5 weeks, possibly longer. Depending on when Ciampa is cleared, WWE may have to change plans for the 2019 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and the main event of the "Takeover: New York" event during WrestleMania 35 weekend. It was noted that all creative options are on the table. There's no word yet on when Ciampa will be cleared for action but he is not on the road for this weekend's live events, and was not cleared as of this week. www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2019/02/backstage-update-on-tommaso-ciampa-injury-and-status-651472/

Ahhhh shit, I hope this doesn't end up being a really serious Jason Jordan thing. I love Ciampa and that'd break my heart.

That sucks. I've had issues with the writing of his character for a while, but a neck injury is just awful.
Sucks also that the Revival got roped into taking the loss due to the change up, but I mean, they're pros, it happens.

f*** you, neck injuries.
My money would have been on a knee injury after Sheamus landed on him awkwardly on Smackdown.

Again, I'm getting really concerned with the amount of neck injuries happening in WWE within the last few years.
Is it the schedule or what?

Why do all of these guys get so worn down on the developmental brand and get injured immediately upon call up

Man I would be gutted if he had to retire or something. I honestly think he is the best heel in the business.

Why do all of these guys get so worn down on the developmental brand and get injured immediately upon call up I'm guessing due to not touring as hard as the main roster does, they still have time to recover thanks to the tapings
Once you get to the main roster, you're always on the go and recovery time is now time in a car or plane

Why do all of these guys get so worn down on the developmental brand and get injured immediately upon call up According to the article, the injury has been there for about a month already so if anything, this might just be WWE wanting to be more cautious. Him not wrestling on the main roster might actually help since now they can play him more as the evil schemer making Johnny do the dirty work and NXT has been filmed up until Takeover anyway I believe.

Damn. Hopefully, it's not too serious. Dude became a god-like heel in NXT, it would be heartbreaking if it's cut short after only dipping his toes in the water of the main roster...

But its almost instantly. They get called up and after 3 or 4 weeks they have a big injury. Balor and Revival #1 being prime examples

I think some of this happens because people want to go all out on debuting to make a first impression, but yeah, like the article says, if he's been hurt, it's not the callup at fault.
