Why do all of these guys get so worn down on the developmental brand and get injured immediately upon call up I don't know for sure. Developmental talent are largely taught to work at a steady pace and, for the most part, can work at a regular pace, but bringing in people from the indies is more difficult, because they're still going to run at, like, 80 miles per hour at Takeovers and other major events. When they go to RAW or SmackDown, and have to slow down, they don't really know how to operate at a slower speed, and injuries are more likely. You can't put a governor on a person like Ricochet, since "going 80 mph" was what he learned to get seen. That can't be THE reason, but it doesn't help.

I'm guessing due to not touring as hard as the main roster does, they still have time to recover thanks to the tapings
Once you get to the main roster, you're always on the go and recovery time is now time in a car or plane
But its almost instantly. They get called up and after 3 or 4 weeks they have a big injury. Balor and Revival #1 being prime examples Don't forget Sami Zayn tearing his shoulder in that main roster debut match against John Cena. It wasn't a full call up, but the reception he got and the performance he put on would probably have given him a decent opportunity.

Almost like calling up NXT Guys with no warning and having them work a double schedule till Mania is a f***ing stupid idea.

It can be that on top of general milage catching up. Years of working the indies in that style, where you have to keep going through more injuries which build up. Ciampa has been going for about 14 years, the wear and tear must be pretty high on the guy.

It's not like they're having a more lax schedule on the main though. Yeah maybe they're nuts in NXT, but in WWE, guys get hurt just as much that haven't been in NXT for years Wrestling and Injury are a very hard thing to pinpoint, it can be wear and tear from years and years even before NXT and even just happen suddenly with no warning at any time. But working two full schedules doesn't help, even if NXT is tapings.

As much as I agree forcing them to work main roster AND NXT schedules is silly, if Ciampa's injury started five or six weeks ago, that was before the Rumble and long before they debuted the four on the main roster.
THOUGH making a guy with a known neck issue work a match for Raw on Monday, another match on Smackdown Tuesday and THEN multiple episode tapings for NXT on Wednesday probably is high there on the list of dumb things WWE has done lately.

Apparently Meltzer said on tonight's WOR that Ciampa has to have neck surgery, so I guess they'll have to strip him of the title at the tapings next week. Dammit.

God DAMN IT {Spoiler}{Spoiler}They finally, FINALLY get to the f***ing payoff for the Gargano storyline after all that, and Papa Shango destroys it all. If they still want Johnny on the main he's gonna have to be a singles star now or they might abort him and just stay with Black and Ricochet and give Johnny his NXT Title reign cause Ciampa's gonna have to vacate it. But overall this sucks, this really effing sucks. Ciampa's second major injury on the roster and it's gonna possibly keep him out a long time It might be time to start rethinking the grind of schedules and matches some of these guys have, injuries just seem to keep mounting for great talent, and it hurts even more when they're using all their gas in a "Developmental". Yeah WWE's been misusing NXT Talent like it's second nature, but still...

They REALLY should have finished the feud in Brooklyn with Gargano winning the NXT belt from Ciampa there, it was perfectly set up with each having won once going in. But nooooo, they had to give Gargano more emotional torture and actually turn him heel and pair up with Ciampa again for some reason and pad the thing that technically started with a heel turn in JUNE 2017 out another six months to APRIL 2019. And now they may never finish it.

I don't necessarily agree that all of the injury problems these guys face is from NXT, but I do agree that their schedules are asinine, and the overall wear and tear is killing some of these guys. You had Ciampa working RAW, Smackdown, NXT, and presumably House Shows. How is that not gonna break a body down in short order? It's a shame they'll never actually consider an offseason it seems, because this stuff just keeps becoming more common.

I sure hope this doesn't become a Jason Jordan situation where he can never return to the ring.
They should have finished the Gargano/Ciampa feud sooner with Gargano beating him for the title and moving on.

They should have finished the Gargano/Ciampa feud sooner with Gargano beating him for the title and moving on. That's what i was going to say too. I really don't care about the storyline stuff, I just really really hope this doesn't end his career. The fact that they said he couldn't work through it and it must be done right away is a bit worrisome. Even if it's not a situation where it is career threatening, It's got to be incredibly tough for him after missing so much time with the knee surgery. I really hate it for him and hope he can fully recover asap.
