I'm getting anxious we see Kofi win the title and then Big E takes him out with the Big Ending.
He then cuts a promo on SDL saying he only helped Kofi win the title since he needed someone easy to beat to win it himself and when Woods confronts him, he injures him before Kofi can make the save.
We then somehow get Big E holding the title longer than Kofi did.

I've got it pegged as a post-Mania SD swerve.

I can see Big E winning MITB and promising champ Kofi that he wants to cash it in fairly and gives him notice he's challenging for Kofis title at summerslam or even later before the temptation gets too much for him and his music hits after Kofis been beaten down after a match. I wouldn't mind, I enjoyed both 'the briefcase corrupts' storylines they did with Punk and Bryan.

Why can’t we just have New Day continuing to stick together and being happy for Kofi?

I don't see that happening at all. If anything I see Woods and Big E mixing it up more in the midcard scene while they all stay a stable. Hell, they'll even be around during Kofi's "opportunist heel champion" gimmick that he'll undoubtedly get sometime before Ali becomes champion next year.

If it happens, I hope it won't be for a while. I think it can be done, but it wouldn't make sense to me to go right for it.

If it doesn’t happen by the end of next year, I’d be surprised. A five or six year unbroken run as a group is close to an ice age in WWE (let alone two happening at once, see The Usos).

Kofi as the champ and Big E the MITB holder would be a really interesting angle.

Another thing is the money aspect of it all. New Day sells so much merch that them staying together brings in more money from a company aspect. The only group who's rivaled them in merch numbers these past few years on the main roster is Shield and the whole reason they broke up when they did is due to Bryan going on hiatus a few weeks prior to the breakup. New Day breaking up would only be for making solo stars in Big E and Xavier rather than anything else.

One thing that's actually raising break-up flags for me though is that they haven't had new official merch in a while. They're probably going to release a new line of KofiMania shirts once Kofi at Mania is official, but it does seem rather bizarre that they haven't done anything on this front in 2019.

Honestly I feel like any attempt to separate Big E from the trappings of New Day is just going to kill Big E's overness. I feel like he's the most dependent on the group's gimmick because he never really caught on without it and I feel like he's the least essential to what makes the dynamic work character-wise. Though I do think he's the most essential in terms of ringwork, of the various New Day combinations the combination without him is pretty easily the weakest.

Maybe after all three try their hand at singles titles, Woods is successful but Big E isn't and then he takes it out on them, ultimately getting that world title. EDIT: Alternately, I can see Kofi/Woods turning heel and Big E being the babyface that takes them down.

I think it’s coming too. I could see Big E winning MITB and saying he’s going to wait his turn to cash in in case Kofi ever loses the title. Kofi ends up having a grueling defense and Big E hits the ring and crushes Kofi to win the title. Xavier hits the ring to celebrate. “Who’s the champion? Who? Who? Who? It’s a New Day, yes it is!”

I doubt they will break up they make too much money on merchandise and even if they break up you will have a reunions less than a year like The Shield. And knowing the way these afternoon . they will book Kofi l will do anything to hang on to the belt so his buddies will come in and interfere in all his matches almost like something out of lucha house party or even NWO DX legacy etc. Which is my concern is that instead of this being a great singles run this is going to be some kind of of a gang mentality schtick that WWF continues to do to the point that we're going to get sick of them.
Yes they may break up and Feud with each other 8 months later they have a huge reunions thinking it's some kind of a historical event

Kofi has just gotten murdered by Braun (who is now on SmackDown) but somehow retained the title: "AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW KOFIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII! DON'T YOU DARE BE SOUR! CLLLLLAP FOR YOUR WORLD FAMOUS 5 TIME CHAMP! AND FEEEEEEEEEEEEEL THE POWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR"

E post-turn would probably get srs-ified, it'd go over about as well as Ambrose's turn, and they'd be hitting the undo button on that shit in no time.

Spoiler: Neither of them win it.
The eventual New Day Angle is blown off on a random Smackdown.
