So how'd New Day get ahold of the old belt anyway? Did Big E go dumpster-diving? How long have they had it?

I wanna see a backstage pic of Kofi and Bryan hugging each other. You know it happened. Seeing how I'm of the belief that I believe that Bryan personally hand-picked Kofi to be the one that he drop the title to, I have no doubt about it.

Yeah, I have no doubt Bryan would've fought tooth and nail to drop it to Kofi even if he was originally planned to retain.

Sometimes you just sit back and let the talent tell the story and show you how it's done, WWE. They sold the shit out of this story in what limited build they were given, Kofi perfect in his representation of the underdog hero DB once was and DB perfect with the evil condescending bastard promos, and they delivered an A+ classic for the final exam.
Damn happy for Kofi.

Thought I was going to cry when it happened. That shit was absolutely f***ing stellar. This is what wrestling can be. Just this whole feud. They stumbled by accident into a brilliant story where the main players had motivations and characters built on their own pasts, with an amazing feel good ending. This is the kind of story you can only tell once in a generation and when you do it's f***ing stellar.

Also, we have learned the secret of Rowan's strength.
He did not wear a metal band shirt tonight. He wore a George Romero one.
When he does not wear metal band shirts, Bryan suffers.

Okay me and the other metalhead at the viewing party I was at were confused and thought he'd pulled up some band neither of us knew.

This is going to be remembered as one of the all-time classics. It had nearly everything you'd ever want in a pro wrestling match, with a historically significant ending to boot.
A resounding A++ from a couple of "B+ players". Kofi may very well be joining the Two Time HOF Club when all is said and done, while Bryan proved he's one of the best overall talents of all time.

Was this the first time in a Wrestlemania Title Match where they actually showed the other wrestlers backstage cheering on a face to win the title?

NXT: "Nothing on WrestleMania can top us."
Kofi: "Hold my beer."
Bryan: "Beer?! How dare you pollute your body with that disgusting filth! And it's not organic?! Shame!"

This was a great match with everything involved. It had a great tempo, crowd was super into it, the outside players, and the two guys are two of the most gifted talents on the roster. The only thing missing from the post-match celebration was confetti, which if it closed the show, it would have probably had that.
Now they got all that going for them, it's time for the WWE to really screw this run up.

My favorite part of their match was Kofi's Bloodsport moment when he was unfazed by the No! Kicks. Reminded me of Frank Dux in the Semifinals taking the kicks from Paco the Muay Thai fighter

I’m going to sum up my joy as a wrestling fan, a Kofi fan and a man with a story.
One night in April 1946, a Jewish family gathered in Brooklyn to celebrate Passover. As is tradition, the youngest boy ask his father “Why is tonight different from other nights?”, to which the father gives a traditional response. But before his father could, the boy answered his own question: “Because a black man is playing in the major leagues.”
Why is this WrestleMania different from other WrestleManias? Because a black man is WWE Champion. I cannot measure fully what those words mean, but I know by speaking the weight and importance of the words and the history. And it is a good. It is right. It is deserved. And Lord knows, it was time.
Congratulations to Kofi. You did it. You dreamed, you fought, you achieved. It has been a privilege to be a fan and share in this moment for you and with you and with my fellow fans and FANs. KofiMania... long may it run wild.
