I’m going to sum up my joy as a wrestling fan, a Kofi fan and a man with a story. One night in April 1946, a Jewish family gathered in Brooklyn to celebrate Passover. As is tradition, the youngest boy ask his father “Why is tonight different from other nights?”, to which the father gives a traditional response. But before his father could, the boy answered his own question: “Because a black man is playing in the major leagues.” Why is this WrestleMania different from other WrestleManias? Because a black man is WWE Champion. I cannot measure fully what those words mean, but I know by speaking the weight and importance of the words and the history. And it is a good. It is right. It is deserved. And Lord knows, it was time. Congratulations to Kofi. You did it. You dreamed, you fought, you achieved. It has been a privilege to be a fan and share in this moment for you and with you and with my fellow fans and FANs. KofiMania... long may it run wild. The Rock: "Well, f*** me, I guess." Kidding, I get what you're saying.

Great match, great story and the right ending. Kofi deserves this, Bryan was surely happy to do this, and the WWE gets a genuinely feelgood moment. And, even better, no dumb heel turn like we've been conditioned to expect. No 'Big E suddenly becomes a bad guy obsessed with the title for no reason' bullshit. They were both completely happy for Kofi, and real, unabashed friendships like this shouldn't be such a rarity in professional wrestling kayfabe.

I wanna see a backstage pic of Kofi and Bryan hugging each other. You know it happened. Seeing how I'm of the belief that I believe that Bryan personally hand-picked Kofi to be the one that he drop the title to, I have no doubt about it. This is my belief too. Daniel looked like he almost had tears before the match. He had that look like when he got the ME at 30. Too much emotion to hold in. And it's a perfect story for Bryan. He's always been one to make others look great and the fact that he took a perpetual midcarder all the way to one of the greatest championship victories in recent memory is a testament to his skill. I am not trying to take anything from Kofi, but the back has often overlooked him unless they needed a highspot in MIB.

Kidding, I get what you're saying. I appreciate that. It’s not a case of heritage or degrees, it’s that... I dunno, this is different than Rock. This is someone who is an immigrant, a true African-American transplant who seemed destined for the midcard and no better who is now the champion. It’s... unique and special. And maybe beyond my words or ability to convey. But the joy remains.

Kofi stomped that boy D-Bry's f***ing head in, told him to get his punk ass up and finished him off with Trouble in Paradise. He was on some Aleister Black "lift my opponent up with my boot and Black Mass them" shit at the end.

It was a phenomenal match and match of the night. Despite my reservations about Midcard Kofi he stepped up last night. Was nice to see him celebrating with his kids and New Day nice moment.
And now I think Bryan once again needs to be in the conversation for best wrestler in the world. He’s been amazing the last 6 months or so. Promo wise and in ring wise he is the complete package right now.

I still have Zero idea how Bryan got typcasted as "Bland" and "no personality" Sure he was never the strongest actual talker in the world, but f*** he was a charismatic hilarious prick during his ROH Heel run. Now He can work the mic like an absolute champ, Totally is the complete package now.

I think some of it was that he, when a face, often gets stuck as being plucky, and he does that well, but even as a face, he can come across really smug, which undermines the underdog thing. I'm not saying Bryan himself is just naturally smug or anything, though he's certainly very confident, but put a mic in front of him, and he does his finest work tapping into that, along with being righteous.

I'm glad Kofi won. Just a shame it was a mid card match because heaven forbid that Trips should go before this !!! To me that just says what Vince really thinks 🤷♂️

My favorite part of their match was Kofi's Bloodsport moment when he was unfazed by the No! Kicks. Reminded me of Frank Dux in the Semifinals taking the kicks from Paco the Muay Thai fighter That was such an excellent moment. The way Bryan is just sadistic and plotting as Kofi slowly climbs to his feet, only for him to gradually start panicking as Kofi shrugs off one kick after another.

To me that just says what Vince really thinks 🤷♂️ Mania's so long it's all about spacing out the big moments. The match was put on while the crowd was at its hottest, it was the longest match of the night, they were talking it up a ton as the show went on, it was the match the people backstage were shown to be interested in, it absolutely got a spotlight shown on it.

It freaking ruled. I expected a really good match from the two but if I said it was going to be anything of that quality, I would have been lying.
I do sort of agree the ending should have been more out of nowhere but that’d be me changing their perfect ending with my own version of the perfect ending so yeah, no problems either way.
And when the kids came out...it got really dusty, man. Just so much dust...they needed to sort it out.

Fair enough but .... when Eddie and Benoit won at wm20 it was meant to be a new era.by Summerslam both were back in the midcard. Lets just hope the same won't happen to him

To me that just says what Vince really thinks 🤷♂️ Randy Savage beat Flair at WM8 in a mid-show match. (They did bill it as part of the WM8 double main event at least.) I have yet to see fan videos from the crowd for when Becky won, but considering the rampant jubilation in MetLife when Kofi won........there's a fair case to be made that Kofi/Bryan coulda gone on last instead...

If Becky was hobbled by anything, it’s that she won at 12:30 in the morning after seven HOURS of wrestling. Does nothing to diminish as both got my ovation at home and both are special in their own rights, both for history, both for the business and both are just plain loved. The sole difference? I’m content that Kofi is waking up today with the belt next to him and his family beside him. I wish Becky were waking up with her belts next to her and me beside her. I gotta be honest.

Dude, it's the day after WrestleMania. They've probably already been up for hours getting ready to do the media loop. (It's f***ing trippy that when they interview the WWE world champions on the breakfast TV today, it'll be to Kofi Kingston and Becky Lynch)

But you are right. They are on impulse power, still buzzed, doing the media before the gym and RAW tonight. God love them.
