Look, if he's *truly* sorry and has really grown as a person, then that's fantastic. Still has work to do to prove that his words aren't hollow [/quote Everytime this kind of thread comes up, I repeat this. If he is really sorry, I don't care about Big E or Titus, or other people here on this board. I will forgive him. This was never some practically irredeemable Benoit level incident. It wasn't even on the same level as Austin beating his wife. I'm not saying everyone has to forgive him. Who here said every black man has to forgive him now? No one. But the ultimate result out of this is that he genuinely realises what he did wrong, and works hard to show WHY he said what he did, and WHY that mindset is wrong. Don't undermine the powerful strong witness against racism from a former racist themselves. Very little is stronger than it. (In that context) However. I at this point am wondering if this is the best we're gonna get, some hidden real apology behind closed doors and an acceptance of it. Perhaps he will never do a Hollywood style redemption story. And if I'm honest, I'm not hating him in my heart. As a Christian I forgive him, but I don't forget, nor accept him fully until I see a little more for myself.

If Hogan is truly sorry it will show, I don't need to hear it but I will see it
Truly show that you are sorry and don't expect people to forgive you just because

Big E. didn’t accept Hogan’s apology for being racist. He accepted his apology for killing the 3 Ninjas franchise.

Good for Big E but Big E isn’t the emperor of black people.
What I’m saying is f*** Hogan. He had numerous chances to apologize and he has either blamed Obama, say that it was ok to use the n word because people in Florida grew up using it, saying that he already has apologized himself, or that just a tiny number of fans were offended by his silly comments.

Oh and remember Hogan’s speech to the locker room? It was “don’t get caught saying racist things” it wasn’t “please don’t say racist things”.

People shouldn't have to forgive him because someone else did, that's not how it works lol
Though I will say he finally looks to be taking steps in a better direction

Some people will forgive him or already have. Some will never forgive him.
In my opinion both are acceptable.
Only thing I believe is you can’t hold animosity towards either side regardless of where you fall.

I hate when people say stuff like this. I have to ask, what makes you so clairvoyant? It’s a known fact - those who live without anger, without regret, live better lives. If that’s not enough, pardon me for using an expression and just choosing to be happy E is taking a higher road. You're not wrong here. It takes a lot to forgive and those that don't aren't happy themselves.

Sometimes people have to hear themselves say something terrible or see how people react to it before they can actually look at it and realize they’ve done something wrong.
People change and grow all the time . Honestly we had someone here post a thread from ten years ago on the potential of a transgender wrestler in the WWE and people were shocked by some of the replies. Even people who still post here.
Is Hogan a changed man, is his apology legit? I don’t know. I’d hate to be remembered for something dumb I did or said for eternity, epsecially if I was truly remorseful. It takes a lot to admit you’re wrong and it takes a lot as someone who feels wronged to legitimately accept there apology.
Let’s hope Hogan learned and bridges can be mended

Man, I wish someone would tell all those stillborn babies and cancer patients to stop being so damn bitter!! Nah, I'm being an asshole there, and I have no ill will toward you, because I know that you were just trying to use a positive expression. But I hate expressions like that. If you think about it, it is a slap in the face to people who lost loved ones way too young. It is not your fault; before my current job, I worked in the medical field. I got to see a lot of good people die young and a lot of bad people live long lives, so I'm a bit sensitive to those kinds of expressions. You’re absolutely right - I need to think not just about what I say, but how it is perceived. Don’t just use an expression because it’s easy, but use your own thoughts without being insensitive. I should know better and it’s incredibly ironic that we are having this discussion about words and meaning with this topic under the circumstances. Thank you for the course correction. I am not without flaw and I will get better only when called on it. I’d just like to respectfully add that another way to explain the expression is that it’s much healthier to let go of anything stressing you. Stress is a killer. Stress will age you. None of us can live stress free but it’s better not to get worked up over most things or hold grudges. Hogan’s views, whatever they may be, aren’t worth getting too angry over. Certainly not to the point where your blood pressure rises and it increases your stress. I find Hogan offensive for many reasons. I just don’t pay much attention to him. He doesn’t directly affect my life. I don’t let him stress me on any level. You can choose not to forgive him and not stress over it. You can ignore him. I don’t hate him. I simply don’t appreciate him. I can see people that have to see him being offended by him and not forgiving him. They can be dismissive of him without hating him. Angry feelings won’t hurt Hogan. They only hurt the people stressing themselves out over him. I believe Big E was outspoken about Hogan. He’s chosen to let go of the stress over the issue. Whether he genuinely forgives him or not is entirely his business and it doesn’t really matter. He’s chosen to let go of the stress his feelings caused him which is the healthy thing to do.

Changed the title. Nowhere in that tweet does Big E accept the apology.
