Tonight really just proved they have absolutely no idea what people want out of their weekly tv product. I don’t think they know what they want from their weekly product.

Who gives a shit what show anyone is on if both shows, and wrestlers on said shows are written so damn poorly? These quick fixes are ridiculous and embarrassing.
Why the hell hasn't someone gone to Vince and flat out said "No! You are out of touch. The shows are terrible, your creative ideas are the absolute drizzling shits! Go home!"?
The worrying thing is that maybe people have said just that, and he won't listen. I saw a thread asking if blaming Vince was a cop out. No, he is a damned fool who doesn't give a shit about the wrestling business or the 'stigma' that comes with it. Well go to your XFL and stay there.

Hilarious rule.
Sounds like something you would come with with your wrestling figures or e-fed when you're a kid.

Hilarious rule. Sounds like something you would come with with your wrestling figures or e-fed when you're a kid. Excuse me. I've done tons of ridiculous storylines and overbooked matches with my action figure fed as a kid. But i've never did something this stupid. Why? Because my titles had divisions and I understood the concept of heroes, villains, people who fall from grace, and redemption stories. And there was no authority figure who felt everything was beneath him. I even kept a note book to plan out feuds and shows. AND, to top it off, I used a washable red marker for blood. Not a permenant one like some kind of a savage. A certified geek, but no savage.

If you rearrange a pile of shit, it’s still shit. Is this the result from your own personal experiments?

Also, it's amazing just how much praise they were lavishing on Vince for this stupid f***ing idea. In both his segments he called himself a genius for it and the commentators kept repeating it all night. It's like they think people will like an idea so long as you tell them enough times that it's a good one.
Though what I really think it is is Vince is having some self-doubt right now about this whole situation and needed to use the TV to reassure himself.

In kayfabe, why would anybody from SDL wanna be on RAW or vice versa?
Like, it makes no damn sense. Is there a financial incentive? Will there be extra title shots?
Everything is just so piss poorly written. It’s terrible.

Awful idea.
You either have a brand split or just f***ing end it. This wildcard nonsense is not going to improve your shows.

I'm just gonna quote myself from last year when the ratings decision was to end branded PPVs: Talked about it elsewhere, but it really stands out that they're completely convinced that the show format they've had for the past 20+ years is such a given that nothing should really be changed about it; "show opening long promo", "slimy authority figure", "pretend like we have no matches booked ahead of time", and "awkward backstage skits that pretend the camera isn't there" are so thoroughly ingrained as the status quo that changing any of it must not even be a thought in their minds. The irony, of course, is that their main event scene 20+ years ago was booked with a semblance of logic, consistency, and internal logic (the less said about the midcard in that time the better, though at least those guys had something to do rather than a big wad of nuthin' like today), so they've ditched that but kept all the outdated nonsense.

They do seem to think that, if they can just slot the right guys into each of those predetermined roles, that everything will be fine. Corbin isn't working as the evil authority figure? Okay, bring Vince back. Even Vince isn't popping ratings? Okay, Triple H is evil again. And so on. This is why the company will continue to fail, in more stark and disconcerting ways.

That Survivor Series tagline is going to be even more fun than usual then.
"The one night a year that Raw and Smackdown go head to head!"
Apart from every week.

Why, in the ever living f***, would they give away a Kofi vs. Bryan rematch on free TV? And even if they're that dumb, why would they give it away on the show that neither person is on, with no advertising to say the match would take place? God, this company is utterly hopeless. Because it’s UNPREDICTABLE!!! Nobody knows what’s gonna happen, so you’ll just have to watch and find out! YAY!!! *jazz hands* ... Seriously, WWE needs to figure out what they want their weekly TV to be, and we as a fanbase need to figure out what we want their weekly TV to be. And I don’t just mean “We want it to be good”, I mean the actual structure, types of matches (competitive between stars or squash matches), types of segments, length of matches and segments, that kind of thing. Because whatever this husk of a thing is, it ain’t working anymore. Man, goodness knows I’ve clashed with many of you guys and girls over the years trying to be the optimist, looking at the silver linings and the bright sides... This is one of the very few times where I’m like “I have like no interest in this at all right now, so I got nothing to defend”. I’m not angry at WWE for this, I’m sad for them, heartbroken. All the talent they have, all the resources... It shouldn’t be like this. Congratulations, WWE. You broke EoE. Have a round of applause for doing that. Good job. A+. [/sarcasm] I've slept on it, and... it's still dumb. It also doesn't help that WWE didn't even adhere to its own rules the very first night. "Three people can appear each show?" Nah; let's have five because we gotta throw a rematch on free television without any announcement ahead of time to try and get that third hour skid to stop for one week. Let's see how WWE ignores its own logic tonight on SmackDown where we got 7 or 9 RAW people showing up on SmackDown and the main event is between Seth Rollins and AJ Styles.

Everything is just so piss poorly written. It’s terrible. It's the same with Survivor Series and "brand unity". For a month, everyone is friends for some reason. It'd make sense if the survivors were promised title shots, or the champion vs champion winners got a bonus. Just something.

I've started to find it a slog to even read through recaps the morning after Raw.
I think I got to reading about Lucha House party having a match and just gave up.

While the rules are convoluted, I do like the fact that some top Smackdown stars will show up on Raw. It will help the 3 hours go by and be filled with actual stars. The biggest problem with Raw for me is usually there’s a 45 minute to an hour period where you get a bunch of matches/segments with heatless lower midcarders or jobber to the stars.

A show featuring people who aren't stars?! Unacceptable! Why do you think WWE has so many heatless midcard wrestlers? I can't wait to hear "'cuz they didn't grab the brass ring" as a possible reason.

That’s the thing... How the hell are talents who don’t have any heat supposed to even have a chance to GET it if they’re not being put on TV? (Those Colon cousins must have peak Austin levels of overness at this point)
