In Kayfabe, how early do wrestlers get to the building to claim one of the wildcard slots? They should do like a Ride Along like segment where two guys are shown racing from the Raw location to claim the last Smackdown Wildcard slot. Raw opens with them getting to the arena and finding Heath asleep on a bench outside. Nobody wakes him. When the show's over we see one of the top guys leaving, saying goodnight to the agents, passes Heath on a bench, Heath is still asleep. Someone has written 'He's got kids, he needs his bench' on his forehead with a Sharpie.

If they just shift Raw and Smackdown into a full-on Cannonball Run/Wacky Races format, it'd be a million times better than what they're doing now. As it is, the solution to who gets to be on both shows is simple: there should be a Golden Ticket that any WWE Superstar can find which grants them access to both shows as long as they have it in their possession.

So how will this wild card rule affect Survivor Series? Are they going to keep the brand vs. brand idea if they can come and go as they want?

...maybe tag-teams like the Usos only count as one superstar?
That way, Miz showing up is only #4, not #5.

I'd be up for a spot where early in the match one guy removes his brand shirt revealing the other shows shirt under it, only to later remove that one exposing another shirt of the first original brand under that too. Swerves in swerves.

Honestly ,if you are mid-card you msut be evne more annoyed.
Now the main eventers get double the time and your time slot gets even more non-existent

It really was embarrassing when Vince tried to explain it. You could tell Kofi, Bryan and Roman were also deeply confused by the whole thing trying to explain it/justify it even with access to the script beforehand. Was never on board with a hard brand split anyway, but even I will say you canât have it both ways.
I found some of the stuff they came out with the week of the Superstar shakeup to be symptomatic of how little they understand the audience right now. For instance when AJ came out on Raw they actually had Corey Graves explain to the audience who AJ was. As if any of the audience had been in a bubble and didnât watch AJ at their own biggest show of the year beating Randy Orton just a week or so prior, or headlining the majority of their pppvs over the past two years.
It is ludicrous to think either show can operate in its own bubble - they cannot and will not ever be able to compete with themself. The point of the brand split is to stop people getting stale and stopping people getting injured or burned out by having to work two tv shows a week. That can even be achieved without a hard brand split.
This wildcard nonsense solves absolutely nothing. It is the worst of both worlds.

You don't need a hard, enforced brand split. You can just tell the writers "this is who's available for RAW this week, this is who's available for SmackDown" and switch it up as needed. I've always thought the best way to go about it to keep things fresh and also try to feature more people is to split the roster into touring groups that change every 2 or 3 months. Even with that you could still have people show up on both shows as stories call for it.

I feel like this is an insult to the phrase because filing up a van with gasoline, cutting the breaks then jumping out of said van yelling âWildcard bitchesâ makes more goddam sense than anything coming out of WWE lately

You totally just inspired me to come up with an idea that could be so wildly fun. Make the Wacky Races format the first hour of Raw. Show everyone trying to be the first to get to Raw. The first say 20 people who arrive at the arena, they get on the show guaranteed. The first 3 or 4 get a title shot. Could be for the Universal title, could be for the US title, it's totally random. The potential for comedy is so amazing. Imagine Woods unveiling the Pancake Mobile and Big E and Kofi hang out the windows chucking pancakes at other wrestlers as they're passing them on the road. Imagine Heath Slater desperately hitch hiking trying to get to the arena. Billie and Peyton confusing their Uber driver with their accents. Corbin's driver takes him to an Applebee's thinking he's a waiter. Bryan and Rowan being unable to find a charging station for their car or they have flat tires on their bicycles. Give Smackdown a 3rd hour so they can do the same thing.

I love that it only took them a single week for the guest quality to drop to Apollo Crews levels.
