"July 17th is my last date there. They actually offered me more than twice my downside but it wasn't where they would have to use me because the downside is so large and it wasn't about money it was about me wanting to be on the road work and helping the younger guys kind of like a player coach." "It was a mutual understanding that we were not going to figure out a number. And they've been great, I can't say anything bad about them. I had a lot of fun. I was afraid that they would say yes to a larger downside than what they offered me because I was afraid that they would still sit me at home. It's not that they don't like me, there is a lot of talent there and they have to cycle the talent which is normal because you want to get men and women out there to work. I was afraid that I would become miserable and that's the last thing that you want to do when you're doing something that you love. I would rather take a step back and work for some of these companies and work the independent scene." "My job is to find the next John Cena, the next Stone Cold Steve Austin, the next Rock and how can I help these guys if I'm not on the road? If I'm sitting at my marina, that'd be nice I'd be very fortunate to do that, but I can't help those younger men and women improve. On the indies, I can do that. And with other companies whether it's AEW, Impact, Ring of Honor or New Japan I've done that before in the past and that's something I can do now in the future." www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2019/05/rhyno-says-he-turned-down-big-money-from-wwe-653842/

Why offer a 100% raise to Rhyno when you're not even using him? God this company is so wasteful.

What a judicious use of funds WWE is on now, really can't wait to hear someone try to defend "We'll pay you twice your downside if you sit at home and stay the f*** out of anyone's face" as a business strategy

When WWE is throwing more money at Rhyno and even he’s still abandoning ship that’s a bad look.

Wait, didn't Rhyno like retire or leave 2 or 3 times in the last 6 months?
(Legit asking - didn't he retire during a commercial break? whatever happened to that? I swear I didn't make that up, right?)

Zod bless Brock for going in the opposite direction, milking Vince for all he is worth. Of course, Rhyno deserves props for having some damn pride.

I swear I didn't make that up, right?) He had a loser gets fired match with Heath on Raw in November or December. Heath won, Rhyno was fired, and he gave a retirement type speech then, yeah. But then Corbin was fired and Rhyno was rehired and saved Heath from a beat down during the Christmas episode. Then around Mania, Rhyno was mysteriously moved to the alumni section, but was moved back to the regular roster a few days later. Now Heath's coming out alone on Main Event and he was alone on Raw last night too so I think this is really it.

I don't blame him. If the company has no role for him, it needs to find him a role or let him go. Hoarding talent to keep them from working elsewhere, from contributing their experience and know-how to building the craft as a whole, will only work for so long. Long-term, you end up with a roster full of leeches signed up for years at a time after working a decent match on TV; and any prospective NXT stars are giving the company a hard pass.

Shouldn’t their investors be alarmed? If all th we reports are true, they’re offering huge gobs of money to people that seemingly have very little value to the company. I mean, personally, I’m all for it. I hope the talent takes every dime they can get, it they choose to sign. But as a business practice, it seems irresponsible.

I wish my company would double what I earn so I could sit on my ass at home and make lame spaghetti... Shouldn’t their investors be alarmed? Honestly, if I was an investor, I would be questioning why money would be wasted on people who are being paid great wages to sit at home and do nothing when the money could be better used elsewhere.
