If her death is a suicide, that really f***ing sucks. Depression is a hell of a thing, and nothing to be ashamed of. If you're feeling that way, talk to somebody, don't be afraid of it. We all need a little help sometimes. It's great that big stars like Michael Phelps, Kevin Love, and DeMar Derozan, have been so forthcoming about their bouts with depression and anxiety. Realize that there a lot of people going through the same struggles, depression knows no age, no sex, no income bracket, and no fame. Ashley Massaro is somebody who will probably be remembered as someone who was never a very good wrestler, but she should also be remembered as someone who fairly obviously WANTED to be a good wrestler. Ashley Massaro, Candice Michelle, Christy Hemme, Layla, and even Maria Kanellis to extent, were that group of women who were never very good at wrestling, but it was obvious that they actually gave a shit, cared about wrestling, and obviously wanted to be good. They needed NXT before NXT was a thing. Instead they were essentially picked up off the street and expected to perform with little to no training, and it's no surprise that essentially all of them had their careers cut short by injuries. Had Ashley Massaro received proper training and development, who knows how differently her career would have gone. And I have been reading that she had been training for a comeback?? What a shame. Yeah, there's a whole generation of women wrestlers that WWE likes to gloss over, that never got proper training. You wonder what women like Ashley, Candice, Christy, Maria, and Kelly could have been if they had proper training, instead of being thrown out there. And you wonder how much better women like Michelle, Eve, and Layla would have been if they had proper training from the beginning. Ashley and a lot from that era weren't great in the ring, in large part because WWE didn't give them the proper tools to succeed.

I had a huge crush on her back in the day.
This news is heartbreaking.

I really wonder what the Divas of the mid 00's would be like if someone like Sara Del Rey was in charge of women's developmental back then. Sure you'd have people who just saw the WWE as another modeling gig and had no interest in becoming legit wrestlers. But then you had women like Ashley Massaro and Maria Kanellis who were really passionate about the business and probably would've been at least decent wrestlers if given proper training and development.

This is just terrible. Not just manner of her death but the fact she left a daughter behind is just tragic and another reminder that anyone at anytime can suffer from depression.
And while I'm in this someone really needs to tell Reby Sky the old adage that if you don't have anything good to say then say nothing at all.

That’s not much of an issue to me as I don’t see it as her likeing the fact that Ashley is dead.

Now if it was a tweet stating that they were glad she was dead and Reby liked that, it'd be pretty cut-and-dry. For the time being, it just seems like a weird tweet to give a like to

Reby has always been kind of a horrible person, people just forgot that for a while as they hated TNA more at the time.

Ah. I did not see that. I get being upset about the emojis she posted being misinterpreted, but the “ain’t in mourning” and related crap were completely unnecessary. f*** her.

Several of that generation of divas definitely had a passion for the business. Candice in particular could have been quite memorable had she not kept getting hurt. Ashley was more durable and definitely showed improvement, but that generation was never given the support they needed in order to maximize their potential. As far as Reby goes, she had always came across as trashy. I suppose I am not shocked that she doesn’t like her husband’s ex, but she really needs to grow up. She is a 32 year old mom, not some bratty teenager.

I'm hearing that it apparently was a suicide A shame if true It's going to open up a lot more questions and those that were close to her or had a connection is going to rack their brain on how they could have reached out to her more to potentially stop it I wish they would know sometimes, there's just nothing you can do. Some people just want to go and no one will ever have had a clue.

Ashley's affidavit about the assault that occurred during her time with the WWE. Heartbreaking...... and also shame on the WWE Officials for leaving her alone in Saudi Arabia after this had happened (leaving her alone in the sick bay to be raped). How, in good conscience, could ANYONE in WWE allow that to happen. Unreal.

Heartbreaking...... and also shame on the WWE Officials for leaving her alone in Saudi Arabia after this had happened (leaving her alone in the sick bay to be raped). How, in good conscience, could ANYONE in WWE allow that to happen. Unreal. Because the higher ups in WWE have no conscience. Maybe Shane and Linda are the good ones but I really don't think Vince McMahon, Stephanie or her husband care about anyone but their own. The charitable aspect that Stephanie and Hunter try to showcase when they do their autographs signings, I'm sure is just for show. Vince McMahon may have had a soft spot for people who were loyal to him but that's where the loyalty ends. His emotional and mental growth was stunted at childhood. The sad thing is, as big a business as WWE is, I don't think people in general society (non wrestling fans) really classify them enough to be considered a "real" business. They are just a "wrestling company" just like any local independent wrestling federation, WWE just happens to be the biggest. No one in the general public believes WrestleMania, despite being the companies biggest event, is anything like a Super Bowl or World Series. If WWE were considered a legit business they would face consequences for beatings given by Bradshaw, Bob Holly, sexual assaults and harassments by Bradshaw, the firing twice of Jim Ross for reasons of disability, the death of Owen Hart due to negligence and some god awful, disgusting storylines that go against basic human decency. I absolutely feel for Ashley and her family, especially her daughter but hopefully there can be some peace found eventually for those wronged by WWE over the years.

Oh my gosh. This really has me feeling bothered. I don't even want to believe this, it feels so unreal. I loved her back in the day and finding out about this made my heart sink. I'm seriously going to cry. She seemed like such an amazing person, rest in peace, Ashley
