I didn't see Juice's promo about it yet, but I'm guessing there's some mention of their joint past in FCW/early NXT?

The fact that AEW has clauses in contracts that allow someone to work NJPW is the equivalent of sending someone to NJPW. WWE wouldn't allow it. Not exactly; Moxley could've chosen to work with any other company in Japan if he wanted to do this. The contract he has is a passive gesture on AEW's part: "You can go and work some place else under these parameters, you're free to do so." Actively sending him there would mean there's a full-on cooperative agreement between the two promotions, ala when NJPW and WCW had a partnership going through the 90s, but that's not what this is. By all accounts, though, the two are at least keeping on decent terms with one another, so it's not unfair to project a future relationship between the two that's more active. I think the clause "If you happen to have free time we will allow you to appear in other companies" is great." Restrective but fair. Not sure how much free time Ambrose will have, being one of the main players of AEW but still nice to have.

Much like Jericho, Moxley has just signed a separate contract with New Japan. Whereas, with ROH/New Japan/CMLL/Rev Pro, they can borrow/request/trade talent for periods of time, granted I am sure they still have to pay them out of pocket. Although, the most interesting part is Kenny requested a clause that he could work for New Japan whenever he wants, so I think we see him back in a New Japan ring before the end of the year. I will be more confident in the relationship if we see Okada or Naito in AEW, but right now it just seems at least the doors are open between the two and could open up even more if ROH continues to drop the ball.

JR didn't know Moxley was going to be there so his reaction was genuine.

JR didn't know Moxley was going to be there so his reaction was genuine. Makes sense. JR has always said he doesn't want to be in the loop on anything and prefers to give genuine reactions.

I want to say that he probably knew and he’s working but on the other hand, he sounded really goddamn genuine in a way you couldn’t fake.

That's a cool story. He definitely sounded like his old self in that moment. Have an exciting product and your announcers sound genuinely excited to call the action. Weird.

I'm of two school of thought. A Juice win over Mox would be huge for him, but I would love Mox win if it meant him defending the title at Dominion, preferably against Goto.

I remember saying thats one of the things I wanted, authentic commentary and dont feel the need to tell everything your announcer HAS to say.

Add to the fact that JR is passionate about wrestling and it really shows when he is enjoying the product and having fun. JR was really great in his role.

^I haven't seen DoN yet but JR having a good night is a big reason why I want to eventually catch it.
