This felt like it warranted its own thread from the other ones coming out of the show. ... As do several other things, amazed there isn't one on the Rhodes match yet, but eh. www.prowrestlingtees.com/promotion-tshirts/aew/unscripted-1.htmlIt's pretty funny that as strong a sendoff as WWE gave he immediately just goes and Lugers them, I love it. It's the Wackyline of contract negotiations.

Like I’ve said, he kept his cards close to his chest, didn’t passive aggressively complain on Twitter (because he never used it) and, eventually, they treated him well on his way out.
Only thing is, that won’t work for anyone else now.

Knowing how petty Vince is, I wonder if they’ll bury Renee or make subtle digs at her (and Natalya to an extent) this week on WWE programming....

I expected it and it’d have been crazy if it wasn’t there but it was still unbelievably cool to see him debut how he did.
Made me want to see what happens next which is exactly what you want.

Only thing is, that won’t work for anyone else now. His wife is also in WWE, and Roman's his road wife, so he won't talk too much shit on the company employing possibly the 2 closest people to him. Knowing how petty Vince is, I wonder if they’ll bury Renee or make subtle digs at her (and Natalya to an extent) this week on WWE programming.... I think Renee's safe. If they do anything to her, she can bounce off to ESPN. Also, with the Fox deal, Fox will want her, since Fox, ESPN, and WWE were all fighting for her not long ago.

Honestly, the moment they do something to her, they know she can find a way out of her contract and go to ESPN if they still wanted her (and I don’t see why they wouldn’t).

Smartest guy in wrestling right now. This was some Pillman outsmarting Bischoff type shit. Just kept his head down and waited till his contract was up before revealing his plan. Top notch work.

Amazing flex by Mox to just wait out his contract and get a nice little victory lap on the way out and then show up for AEW's first big show. I'm impressed.

Renee's safe. Everyone's going to have their eyes on if WWE takes it out on her, and given she's part of the commentary team, it wouldn't exactly be subtle.

Mox won the game by pretending he wasn't even playing. Brilliant man.

When the Shield debuted, Ambrose felt like one of the only guys in WWE in years who really had the potential to become a breakout megastar on or even above Cena's level. He had the perfect mixture of the charisma and larger-than-life persona to hook in a wider audience, plus the in-ring work and indie cred to appeal to the hardcore fans. WWE booked him in the top handful of fulltime guys, but I'm still baffled they didn't push him harder; there's not a single other person on their roster who feels like they're on the same level of embodying everything WWE should be looking for in a headliner.
If they use him right, I think Moxley and AEW can go very, very far together.

At the same time WWE can't treat all of their talent that are coming at the end of their contract terribly because...well that wouldn't be helpful. I could see them being much more upfront about adding time due to injury and just doing it automatically no matter what though.

According to Tony Khan, as soon as Ambrose was legally out of his WWE deal he went to Tony to talk.

According to Tony Khan, as soon as Ambrose was legally out of his WWE deal he went to Tony to talk. Ambrose: "So, I heard your family owns Jaguars. Is that right?" Khan: "That's right." Ambrose: "Tell me, if I sign with you, could I get a train couple of jaguars to be enforcers in my raccoon army?"
