I’ve watched that debut a good few times now since the event.
Like, it’s up there with Kofi winning the WWE title as an iconic moment of the year so far for me and it’s only May.

I was so happy to see him he was my favourite for ages until WWE botched his heel run last year. Hopefully now he will get his mojo back and the thought of him v Omega is salivating.

Now we just need Roman to jump next and be the Diesel to Moxley’s Razor, I kid.

One of the things I loved was Kenny Omega fighting back. I didn't expect that.
Also a youtube clip of this has reached a million views already. Wow.

So, am I not allowed to call him Dean Ambrose anymore?

So, am I not allowed to call him Dean Ambrose anymore? Is Scott Hall Razor Ramon?

So, am I not allowed to call him Dean Ambrose anymore? You can if you'd like (I'm sure most will know him as that anyways), but personally I see it as respecting the difference in characters between Ambrose and Moxley, not unlike Razor Ramon and Diesel becoming Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, respectively. Over time, it'll likely become easier to call him by his current name rather than his WWE one.

Probably my favorite wrestling moment in years! My favorite current wrestler is finally gonna show us what he is truly capable of! Imagine the excitement of "I can't wait to see what Moxley is gonna do on AEW this week!" It made me go from on the fence about AEW to all aboard.
Also, huge props to JR, he sold that moment like no one else could. Made Omega-Moxley feel like the huge moment it is.

So, am I not allowed to call him Dean Ambrose anymore? Same as when you tried starting a fight over if you were "allowed" to say Mustafa Ali, nobody cares. Stop asking.

This is a big time get for AEW. I figured the Moxley stuff was a WWE production and a new direction for his character away from the SHIELD/Ambrose gimmick, and a way to hype up a return near the end of the year, especially when you consider the really good sendoff he got. I'm doubtful that is the direction they would've gone if they thought that's what he was going to do, that's not their style no matter how much it would've pissed Roman and Seth off. They probably thought he'd bounce around the indies a bit, get his grove back, and return within a year.
I know some are saying no way, but I won't be surprised if WWE takes it out on Renee by embarrassing her on TV or trying to create problems for her and Jon. I don't think they care if it will backfire and make her bolt to ESPN/Fox/AEW/wherever sooner, they know she's probably not long for the WWE Universe now regardless of how she's treated.

Man, JR being there when he debuted was perfect. That really elevated him and the moment itself. JR saying "MOXLEY AND OMEGA!! MOXLEY AND OMEGA!!!" was very "TYSON AND AUSTIN!!!"-ish. It was great.

Yeah JR was great here. Much better than hearing...
"OH MYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. THINGS ARE ABOUT TO GET CRAZY! WHAT A MOMENT THIS IS!"

I'm pretty sure announcers and other on-camera talent that aren't wrestlers have a similar situation to the "Legends" deals where they can do outside work as long as they aren't working for another company/miss a TV date
