Who do you got?
They are building Hangman as a top star and I don’t see them putting the belt on Jericho.
On the other hand I didn’t see Jericho beating Omega either.

They might put it on Jericho for the extra mainstream media exposure

Can't imagine them having their first ever champ be an old WWE guy.

I hope it's Page. He came off like a big deal, he got the moment with the title and the seeds of a feud with MJF in the near future. Jericho being so smug and entitled just sets him up to lose.
And yes, having an ex-WWE guy win their first title match, just because he's a bigger name, would not be a good sign.

I think Jericho will win and they'll set up the rematch between him and Omega at the next ppv

Hangman is the right call. Use a guy who is obviously a big deal but hasn't had his big win yet. You can immediately get your own home grown guy that way. The ex-WWE guys are there because they're really good talents and not because they're trying to leach off of the star power that was built elsewhere.

If the game is to keep Omega on top without needing to give him the title, then Hangman makes the most sense. He can have a big moment vanquishing Jericho, then defend against MJF before losing it to Moxley.

I guess Jericho but it feels like a huge mistake to not have it be Omega since he is the best wrestler they have by far.

Jericho. Page will chase him, get the big win, then Kenny turns on him

Surprise the voting is 50/50 right now.
That is probably a good thing, for example if it was Cody vs Jericho for the championship I'm sure most people would think Cody would win.

Page makes the most sense logically, but I can just see Chris Jericho as the top heel with a bunch of babyfaces chasing the belt all at once getting in each others way in various ways.

I think it should be Jericho as the bridge between WCW and AEW. He’s someone who is pretty well known, and I think there’s a reason they promoted his match during the NBA playoffs.
Doesn’t have to be a super long reign, but him starting the first episode of TV as champ seems like a good way to hook lapsed fans.

I don’t think there’s a wrong answer to be honest.
Jericho is a name, he’s adaptable and gets major heat from the fans in a way a baby face that chases can bounce of.
Hangman is obviously the star they want to build, he’s a great promo, looks great and if he wins, there’s feuds you can do with people like MJF and PAC (I think he’s coming back post DG title loss but that’s just me).

Not Who, but his tag partner... Cant believe AEW made Bret Hart their first champion.

I think it should be Page, but there is an argument to be made for making it Jericho, too. As a former multiple-time world champion, he gives the championship instant credibility, which in turn puts over big the guy who dethrones him whether it's Page, Omega, Moxley, or someone else.

It's a tough one to be honest. I think Jericho could be a great heel champion who you can't wait to see beat.

I don't mind most of the options as long as it's not Cody. Given what his father was notorious for doing, it might be interpreted as a bad omen.

I feel like they may go with Jericho as the first champion, and then pull a Vader/Obi-Won/Luke with Omega and Page and him. Where they tease Omega being the one to slay him only for Jericho to shut him down, leading into Page being the underdog dark horse that unseats the big bad and cements himself as a top player.
